A story of Friends, Feelings and Honesty

(0)
This 2 page resource is designed to support teaching key social-emotional topics such as friendship, feelings, and honesty for young learners. Using the short story of ‘Robby and Looty’, children can begin to understand the importance of making good choices, being honest, and considering how their actions affect others. Key Focus Areas: Friendship: Children learn how Robby and Looty are friends but must make better choices together. Discussions can centre around what makes a good friend and how friends help each other make the right decisions. Feelings: The story explores how Robby and Looty feel before and after taking the apples, helping children recognise feelings like guilt, regret, and relief. Teachers can use this to prompt discussions about how actions impact emotions. Honesty: By returning the stolen apples, Robby and Looty show the importance of being honest and making things right. This opens up conversations on why honesty matters and what children can do if they make a mistake. Worksheet: A simple worksheet with key questions is provided which helps children reflect on and write about the story. Role-Playing: Children can act out situations where honesty is important, learning how to apologise and make amends.
