This is an activity where children collect up objects and test them with magnets to see if they are magnetic. There is a poster showing a collection of objects for testing and a template poster for you or the children to use to draw or write in. You could use a kitchen drawer divider to make your collections in for testing. There is a collection of 18 pictures of everyday objects that children can collect and test. The pictures can be cut out and used for sorting, pasting and discussion. There are 2 recording sheets, 1 where the children can make lists and 1 for children to paste the pictures onto under the headings YES and NO.

A resource linked to Pancake Day. A set of 18 colour flashcards each showing a different pancake character. Duplicate, cut and match to find pairs of pancake characters. Children can do the cutting out using the dotted lines to support them. Laminate so that you can reuse the cards next year! There is also a sheet of 6 pancakes that children can add their own faces to.

Dinosaur lovers will enjoy colouring in the 15 picture cards of Dinosaurs, cutting and matching them to the colour versions. The second activity is a set of 8 black and white dinosaurs for children to colour in match to the colour version.

A cross-curricular resource with a toy theme. Children label the 12 toys for sale in the toy shop. Children say how much each toy is as written on the price tags and count out the appropriate amount of coins for each one. Children draw a picture of the toys matching the price tags. Differentiate here by adding in your own prices or children use this sheet to write the cost of the toys. Add up the cost of two toys and write the answer. Tie in with some practical work with your own toy shop, tags and coins for role play fun and application of counting and money skills.

A set of cards based on the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The cards include days of the week and the food eaten by the caterpillar. This resource is mainly photographs which gives a different slant to the activities. Links to science,maths, food and plant topics as well as literacy. Laminate the picture cards and they can be used in a variety of ways.

24 pairs of socks for children to make using these colour cards. Cut out and match looking at pattern and colour. Look out for any odd socks! There is also a blank template sock sheet for children or you, to make your own designs of sock pairs.

A counting and ordering activity for children learning their numbers up to 15. Sheet 1 shows the colour shirts to 15. Children can trace the numbers, cut and order the shirts. Sheet 2 is the same as sheet 1 but in black and white. Sheet 3 is a template of shirts that children can use to write their own numbers and /or design their own shirts. Sheet 4 shows 2 large shirt templates.

A counting game where children count the numbers on each tile and add them together. This works well as a mental maths starter encouraging ‘maths talk’. Children could work against the clock for added interest and motivation. Another activity idea is for children to find matching tiles of ‘real’ dominoes and place them onto the sheets. Children can learn how to play dominoes or / and cut out and match the tiles. There are 19 pages with 2 dominoes on each. There is a template included at the end for you to make more of your own.

A 2D shape activity using hexagons. There are colour and black and white versions included here. The 4 types of sheets show one hexagon, two hexagons joined, three hexagons and a completed pattern on the final sheet. Children can cut out the 2D hexagons and copy or make their own tessellating patterns.

4 sheets with circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. Children can improve their cutting and fine motor skills by cutting out the shapes from the largest to the smallest. Children can learn about shape and size with this activity.

An observation game where children think, make choices and talk about their decisions. 5 colour pages each showing 5 rows of pictures. Children decide which one of the pictures on each row is the odd one out. e.g. 3 lion pictures and 1 tiger or more challenging such as 4 beds, 1 of which is a single bed. Children can verbalise why they have decided a picture is the odd one out. Use as boards or cut the pictures out and they can also be used for sorting games e.g. all the clothing, all the transport etc.

*PCS Licenced - Boardmaker symbols. A Christmas activity linked to maths - comparing and encouraging use of language such as heavy, heavier, light, lighter. There are a set of 24 symbols connected to Christmas / Winter. Each picture is numbered 1 - 24. The second sheet is a template for the children to write which symbol in each square is heavier or lighter. The first one is done for them. Cut and laminate the cards for stand alone speaking and listening activities.

3 worksheets showing 6 sets of 3 numbers. Children can add these together. They can use blocks to help them, or a calculator. More advanced activities include multiplying the 3 numbers and finding out which set is the largest on each page.
