A fun activity linked to Colour, Sorting, Easter, Spring or Animals. There are 6 bunny pictures in different colours to cut and sort - green, yellow, white, pink, blue and orange. Page 1 can shows all 6 colour bunnies. The other pages show 6 of each colours - e.g. 6 yellow bunnies or 6 blue. Cut and laminate the bunnies for durability and for playing games such as Lotto, Sorting, Counting and Matching. Page 1 with the 6 different colour bunnies can be used as a base board and children can find matching bunnies to place on top. The white bunnies can also be coloured in by children and then cut and matched.

This resource is based on Eric Carle’s amazing book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. The resource shows a colour poster for each day of the week and what the caterpillar ate on each day. There is a black and white set of worksheets based on the posters for children to draw the food for each day, write the word and find the initial sound for the day of the week. Children can check that the food and days match the story itself. Ask them to check Saturday in particular. Did the story specify what flavour the ice cream was? Links to stories, reading, writing, days of the week and time.

This is a fun activity for young children which requires close observation and number matching. What to do: Show the first page of the quiz to the class or to a group of children. The page shows 15 baby animal parts and each one is numbered. See if children can name the baby animals from the small parts they can see. Give each child a copy of sheet 2, the numbered template. Children can write the name of the animals or draw them next to the correct numbers. Sheet 3 shows the full pictures of the 15 baby animals. Children could mark off the animals as they recognise them from the quiz. Or, they can cut out the pictures and add them to sheet 2 - pasting them onto the correct number squares. The final sheet is a colouring page showing the 15 baby animals.

A fun game for young children that can be differentiated from counting and adding small numbers together to adding up to 36. There are different ways of using the resources. Activity 1 Share page 1 and work through together with the children so they understand the process. Then children can complete page 2 on their own, or in pairs. Here they say how many ducks they see on the ponds and add up the numbers using the colour duck key. Page 3 is a template so that the children can add their own colours to the duck key. Add their own ducks to the pond and then work out the answers to the questions. Activity 2 Page 4 is a set of colour duck cards. Duplicate these and cut them out to play matching games, snap, pairs and colour sorting. Page 5 is a pond for children to colour in and add ducks of their own. Page 6 are outline black and white ducks for the children to colour in how they want. They could cut these out and add them to the pond. Children could work against the clock for added interest and motivation. Another activity idea is for children to find matching tiles of ‘real’ dominoes and place them onto the sheets. Children can learn how to play dominoes or / and cut out and match the tiles. There are 19 pages with 2 dominoes on each. There is a template included at the end for you to make more of your own.
