A great little game or activity for EYFS, KS1 or those learning English. A poster showing colour pictures of things that you might find in the home. Each set is of 3 with some sets showing the same item and some different versions of the same thing. e.g. 3 toasters the same, 3 books in different colours and 3 different tea pots. There are matching cards to go with the poster. Children can talk about the objects and match them to the main poster. They can say if they are the same or different items in each set. A great little back to school quiz or anytime game encouraging team work, speaking and listening and vocabulary extension. Links to Seasons and Weather. Show the colour page with 28 pictures on. You could discuss a few examples before the children carry out the activity. The aim of the game is to identify the pictures and then sort them into the seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Some pictures may fall into more than one category such as sun cream - Spring and Summer. Children work in pairs or teams to identify the pictures and sort. They can use the grid template provided to write their answers on either write the season or/and what the pictures show. Alternatively, cut out the pictures and children can sort them under 4 headings. Sheet 3 is the answer sheet, although children may come up with plausible alternative answers of their own.

Children can do the cutting out using the dotted lines to support them. Laminate so that you can reuse the cards next year!
