A Christmas resource for EYFS and KS1 linked to 2D shapes. The first sheet shows an array of Xmas Shape characters that all live in a fictional Shape Land. Children will enjoy naming the shapes and colouring them in. Sheet 2 is a counting and sorting sheet. Children find e.g. all the diamond characters, colour them in and count them etc. Other shapes include stars, ovals, rectangles, squares and hearts. Sheet 3 is simple shape drawings for children to begin to experiment with making their own shape characters. Sheet 4 is a rhyming story called ‘In Shape Land’ with space for children to illustrate the story.

An EYFS activity based on Trees linked to Colour, Shape and Pattern. There are 3 designs of trees. Each of the types of trees have 3 worksheets. Colour in the black and white tree to match the colour version. Cut out the colour leaves and add them to the tree outline to recreate the tree exactly or to make a new version. Colour in the leaf outlines to match the colours or use own colours. Then cut out the leaves and add to the tree. For little fingers, you may want to enlarge the sheets for cutting out. Enlarge even more to make a lovely classroom display tree.

Here is a fun way to make your own Christmas cards and/or recycle old Christmas cards. Make a collection of old Christmas cards and add a window frame to the font of them. You could use the 3 colour frames included in this resource. Cut out the window panels and glue to the Christmas cards. Alternatively, children can draw their own pictures in the frames or add wrapping paper to the back of the frames. Children could also use these examples to cut out and make Christmas cards with.
