Here is a fun activity for KS2 pupils. There is a doodle poster showing items relating to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. These images can be named, categorised and discussions around their purpose and value . Page 2 is a sheet for pupils to create their own STEM doodles. Page 3 is a table where pupils can list the items sorting them into the 4 categories and also showing where an item may link to all 4 areas. Key vocabulary may be useful for some pupils to aid spelling and brief descriptions to aid understanding.

Money from 5p to £3 A fun shopping activity where children work out how much each item costs from its position on the grid and the position of the bags with money tags. There is a sheet for children to record the cost of each item and a sheet for them to record the grid reference of the items. There is also a black and white grid with the shopping items on for children to colour in. Extend by asking differentiated questions such as: How much would it cost for a duck and an apple? A fun way to teach grid referencing linking to Geography, Literacy and Maths. Here are two versions of the popular game Battleships - one easier, one harder. The aim of the game is for team or pupil 1 to hide battleships on their grid. Team or pupil 2 tries to locate them suggesting grid references. If they get a ‘hit’, they cover their grid referenced with a hit symbol- ‘Kapow’, ‘Boo’, etc or a colour counter. They can add a different colour counter to indicate a miss keeping track of the references they have already suggested. There are 2 colour boards Numbers to 4 and letters a - d. Numbers to 7 and letters a - g. There are blank grids included for you or pupils to make their own personalised games. There are colour battleships included for cutting out and black and white ones for colouring in . There are colour symbols for the hits e.g. Zap and Pow. Print onto card and laminate for durability and reusable games.
