All of my activities are created on an Acer Chromebook in a series of Posts on a Google Blog. I find some free coding to create a new type of activity and then find some suitable content. Any content can be adapted to any activity. All I need is feedback and requests.

15 visible pictures of homophones in a grid. As learners click on the 7 pairs they can find they disappear leaving one Odd One Out.
Most of my activities are based around pictures as I am a visual learner.
I created a set of screenshots from a series of video clips which included a picture, the name and the meaning of a series of homophones.
With the second set I removed the title and with the third set I removed the meaning of the words.
Leaving me with 3 sets of pictures [a], [b] and [c] providing an opportunity to create the same activity for 3 different levels of difficulty.
I can create a download of all of the pictures used in this series of activities if required, just let me know.
The activities are meant to be fun, flexible and differentiated.
They are meant to develop transferable skills and be cross curricular.
As a result they hopefully reinforce small chunks of information and give a better understanding of a topic.
Most of the activities are aimed at UK National Curriculum KS1 and KS2.

If the emphasis is on sentence creation rather than writing sentences then this activity allows learners that opportunity.
I have called them [calculator sentences] because they use the coding taken from a “calculator” activity in which by clicking on a word [in this case] the same word is displayed
in a “screen”. By this means learners can simply “click” on words for them to appear as a series of words which become their sentence.
This obviously means that using any suitable picture and set of words any subject or topic could be easily created as “calculator sentences”.
All of my activities are created on an Acer Chromebook in a series of Posts on a Google Blog.
So, if you have a blog, or want to create one to try this concept out, simply copy and paste the text in the downloaded text file as a NEW POST and PUBLISH.

I have combined two sets of coding here to create an activity which links maths and English.
Clicking on a series of “action verbs” creates a sum which learners can work out on a calculator.
In version [1b] the same set of “action verbs” creates a sum which learners can work out but without the use of the “=” button.
If you download the coding you can very simply change the numbers used and or the pictures to suit any topic.

Florence Nightingale [WRITING STORYBOARDS ] uses the same simple cataloguing code for the pictures and the “tooltips” coding for the information.
The only addition is coding for a simple text box into which learners can type their story. Sadly, the text isn’t kept but a “screenshot” of the page would give a record of the work.

An activity created by simply combining the coding from two other activities. This has a lot of potential the only negative is that the pictures need to be big enough for learners to be able to identify them and match them to the text.

An idiom is a phrase that, when taken as a whole, has a meaning you wouldn’t be able to work out from the meanings of the individual words.
In this simple activity learners have to try and match an idiom with the correct meaning. To help the learners understand this concept if they correctly match the pairs the “meaning” will turn yellow, if not it will turn red. It means that learners can move the “meanings” around until they match the correct pair.
