Descriptive reading/ writing COMPASS DiRT Lessons
Designed to support KS3 lessons, following an assessment, to successfully identify and analyse descriptive writing teachniques/methods. Slide 3 and 5 in lesson 1 and slide 5 in lesson 2 will need to be adapted to meet the needs of the assessment set prior to this DiRT lesson.

Pre-reading mini-scheme for "A Christmas Carol" - Engaging Lessons and Comprehensive Resources
This mini-scheme consists of five comprehensive lessons, aimed at building a strong foundation for studying “A Christmas Carol.” The series begins with a webquest on the social and historical context, followed by engaging and interactive lessons that explore the novella’s main motifs, themes, and characters. Ideal for the end of year in preperation for GCSE.
Lesson 1: Webquest on Social and Historical Context
Start with an interactive webquest that introduces students to the world of Charles Dickens and the Victorian era. Each booklet is has been carefully designed to support students in their reading development. The texts match the reading age for each year group, are extract based and designed for a 20 minute tutor time. The texts are chunked and have discussion questions included.
