Powerpoint & Worksheet
Introduce halving quantities by teaching children to share cupcakes! Discuss the word 'fair' (or 'equal') and find out how to halve quantities. This is an interactive presentation with slides for the children to move the cupcakes around and 'share' them. You can then reveal the number sentence for each slide, e.g. 'Half of 6 is 3'.
This also includes a cut-and-stick worksheet to follow-up.
- Interactive
- Engaging and colourful
- Sharing cupcakes between two plates
- Using the phrase 'one for me, one for you'
- Explains the problem when halving odd numbers
- Ends with an extension question for more able students
- Includes worksheet
This fun and engaging flipchart (ActivInspire) includes facts about the Galapagos islands and the animals that live there, featuring three videos: one about how the island formed millions of years ago, one showing marine iguanas and one showing the tortoises. This flipchart is editable and includes learning objectives.
20 cards that include different challenges to improve children's reading, such as comprehension questions and special tasks. These can be used independently in the classroom for older children, or sent home with reading books.
ActivInspire Flipchart - can be linked to the story 'Come on Daisy'
A flipchart about positional language - children need to use relevant vocabulary to understand and describe where Daisy is. There is a 'magic window' which will reveal Daisy when it is moved over her hiding place! Very engaging and interactive.
Flipchart (ActivInspire) about CVC words with an Autumn theme. Starts with a 'Star Challenge' going through different sounds and then moves onto saying/matching CVC words to pictures. Then children need to use letters provided to spell different CVC words.
Interactive and fun!
2 ICT lesson flipcharts about using Google Maps.
2 Art/Literacy lesson flipcharts based on houses, stamps, postcards and writing.
Includes an extension worksheet.
All around the theme of Katy Morag!
As well as targets from their teachers, children should be encouraged to think about what they want to improve. These targets can be displayed in the classroom as a reminder of what children are working towards - they also make a great feature for parents and visitors to look at. This file includes eight different targets to be displayed.
- Add children's names either in the document or by printing, laminating and writing on them with a dry-wipe marker so names can be changed.
Autumn 1 and Autumn 2 medium term plans for 'Magnificent Me' (half-term 1) and 'Colour & Christmas (half-term 2). These MTPs include every area of the EYFS.
Start by reciting the number bonds, then adding on more (with cupcakes and sweets) to get to ten. Next, match up the frogs who need to find their best friend (their number bond to 10 makes them friends!) This flipchart ends with a number bonds to 20 challenge page for more able students.
Flipchart (ActivInspire) all about Kente patterns, including examples of real Kente as well as a page of kente patterns relevant to the children. The children can then make some of their own meaningful kente patterns!
This can be used as a board activity or sounds can be printed out as a cut and stick activity.
Match the sounds with the correct pictures - an initial sound phonics game.
ActivInspire flipchart introducing commas; what they are, how to use them in a list and how to use them in a sentence. There is also a follow-up activity; children need to cut out the phrases and commas to make a complete and grammatically correct sentence.
This flipchart includes 5 maths activities for the whole class. They are fully interactive and can be squeezed into even the tightest of timetables when the nativity comes around! This is great way to make sure children are still getting their daily dose of maths!
This marking scheme has completely saved me from endless marking and piles of books write in! Super easy, clear, concise and even involves self-evaluation from the children.
