This is a 15 page resource pack that contains practice exam questions, question guidance and model answers for the Edexcel - Early Elizabethan England course, all broken down by key topic. Included within the pack are: 47 practice questions for Q5(a) 31 practice questions for Q5(b) 29 practice questions for Q5© A model answer has been given for each question. For questions 5b and 5c, additional commentary is given in terms of introduction structure, as well as highlighting the required components of the answer to support in knowing what to write to give a model answer in the assessment.

A lesson that looks in depth at the impact of social class on voting behaviour. The PowerPoint presentation covers the following areas: A definition of key terms on voting behaviour (not comprehensive, however a good start for the unit) A comprehensive definition of what is meant by ‘class’ An evaluation of the extent to which class affects voting behaviour A short consideration of the context that has affected the impact of class on voting behaviour more recently Alongside the presentation, there is a PDF of an analysis of the BBC Great British Class Survey from 2013, to add complexity to modern considerations of class. There is also a table that details the AB, C1, C2 and DE breakdown of class as well as a mock-up source question through which students are directed (in the lesson) to identify the arguments for and against the importance of social class in voting behaviour.

This lesson provides: A reasonably extensive coverage of the different electoral systems that are required for analysis in the Edexcel specification A scaffold for evaluating the different electoral systems in coming to a judgement between them. A sample question that provides a completely made-up source (so that you can use without fear of reducing the pool of resources already available to students for practicing source questions for this specification). The presentation is best delivered through the PowerPoint presentation mode, as each electoral system slide comes with buttons which will link you to the strengths, weaknesses and specific examples for students to know for each system. Just click on these during the presentation and it will move to the correct slide. I have also used data from the electoral commission to create a visual representation of the % make up of seats that would have occurred in the 2017 general election. On slide 21, an additional version of this image is shown - this shows the actual % split of votes so that you can compare each of the images against it. Each individual circle within these images constitutes 1% of the vote.

A lesson overview that takes students through an introduction to Brexit, concluding with the recent developments following the draft bill publication. This lesson is intended to provide a scaffold for a class discussion - although questions are posed, there are no work sheets. Instead, it is intended to capture some of the interest from the recent drama of the draft bill publication, as well as provide a reasonably detailed background so that students are able to discuss contemporary politics.

The third section of the Crime and Punishment unit. As mentioned in prior uploads, the text looks odd in some of the sample images for the resources - this is not the case within the actual resources once downloaded. If you do have any issues, please let me know. Included are two PowerPoint lessons that take students through the Renaissance period for Crime and Punishment. It is strongly encouraged to read the notes of the slides before presenting the lesson, to get a view of the content and the focus of each task. The final slide of each lesson has a large white box. In my lessons, I used this to type up sentence starters and some sentences based upon student input. If you are not comfortable with using PowerPoint to do this in lesson, I would encourage populating this information before the lesson.
