Students use information about Chadwick and the Poor Law and to assess its impact. Students are encouraged to see how the Poor Law was misinterpreted. The video clip was taken from Youtube but you can find others by simply searching. Comments are appreciated.

Students are presented with problems that William faced after the Battle of Hastings. They use their planners or coloured cards to vote on their suggested solutions. Nice set up to a sequence of lessons on Norman control over England. There is a lesson plan attached should you need it. Please note the powerpoint contains animations so you should view it in slide-show mode. Feedback and comments are much appreciated. :-)

Students explore the reasons why people voted for Hitler. The first task asks students to answer some basic questions and they can follow it up by creating an overview spider-diagram. Despite the inaccuracies, I show parts of Rise of Evil to demonstrate the steps taken by Hitler. This is currently available on Youtube in parts. Comments are appreciated.

In this lesson students explore the key features of 1920 America by focusing on Jazz. They will develop an understanding of the type of music and research two famous musicians. Powerpoint can used as a quick run through or as an information hunt around the classroom. Comments are appreciated.

This resource was planned for Edexcel's medicine through time course however it could easily be adapted to suit other boards or lower year groups. Students go through a range of activities to gather and secure their knowledge of Nightingale. Independence is encouraged and students have to work hard to complete all activities within the hour. I use both the Edexcel endorsed brown textbook and the older Edexcel blue and white Dawson textbook in my medicine classes. This Tarsia puzzle covers the theme of the Weimar Republic. Great for 9-1 GCSE revision and intervention sessions. A Tarsia puzzle requires students to match up sides of triangles to form a hexagonal shape. They are brilliant for revision and get students to think hard. I use these at the starts of ends of lessons and they can take 10-20 minutes depending on your class's confidence in the material. All materials are provided here including student instructions, student puzzle pieces and teacher answers. All images have been acquired through a search engine filtered to labelled for re-use.
