Words in Spanish that fit to the tunes 'When Santa got stuck up the chimney' and 'Jingle bells'. Some changes had to be made to make them fit better, so the translations are there too. I cut up the lines in one of the versions - Spanish usually - for learners to try to match to the translations. Brave singing at the end!

The illustrations explain the sentences, so the children can work out and tell me what they mean. Once we have had a look at a video and a dance there is a worksheet testing knowledge of body parts named in the song.

The materials here allow learners to create a beautiful wheel that they can turn to learn the words below. The song is logicallly linked to the English version, but not a direct translation.

Learners use Spanish words for shapes and numbers, and give each other instructions to create the shape using language only (no peeping). Encourage the use of Spanglish - use the Spanish words you can and the English words to supplement.

Based on a short story I read at school, this document gives students instructions to produce a play in Spanish to perform for other learners - ideal to encourage the study of language.

Learners are given time words relating to the future to put in chronological order, starting from now. Learners match verbs to their collocations, then interview peers about when they will do the actions on the list, inventing answers if necessary.

She loves me, she loves me not

This plan gives the bare bones of a play in which a man decides if a woman loves him by picking the petals from a daisy, then in a macabre twist a giant daisy decides if her beloved daisy loves her by picking the limbs from a man. Props need to be made, and dialogue written, but all the needed language is in the plan.

Products of the farm, milking a cow, making a pig's face, finding capital and small letters amongst the chicks and eggs. A fun lesson that requires 4 members of staff the way I did it.
