Originally made as a revision tool for my Year 11s studying A Christmas Carol, I adapted this quiz to cover other elements of the curriculum. This document contains two example responses to an AQA Paper 2 Section B writing question for the 1-9 spec. These responses have been written in the style of a 'student' and contain minor SPAG errors so they can grade both essays based on technical accuracy. There is a space under each response for students to level and grade the answers with feedback. They will need a copy of the marking criteria to do so, which is easily available on the AQA website. A lesson that enables students to be able to effectively compare two of the poems from the Conflict and Power Cluster. This lesson focusses on the question: Compare how poets present attitudes to power and identity in Checking Out Me History and in one other poem from ‘Power and Conflict.’ It features a pictionary (or blockbusters) based starter activity (which the students love!) to help them remember the quotations and also includes a planning grid, example answer and links to the mark scheme. This could stretch to a couple of lessons and is excellent for revision.
