I've been an art and design educator for 10 years. Working in both the UK and internationally. I believe it is incredibly important to nurture globally-minded students who are able to communicate visually and apply critical thinking to the art and media we all consume daily.

20 pages of high resolution colour photographs of still life arrangements. Great for use when you are unable to set up still life arrangements in the classroom or for at home drawing practice. Two files are included one with the images and a second with the images and a grid laid over to help students of all levels. These can be printed and laminated to be used over and over, for individual lessons or for home learning.

Leadership and portraiture

This lesson can be used as part of a portraiture sol or as a stand alone leadership activity or as a cover lesson led by a non specialist, it could even be a lovely way to end a term on an academic note with a fun activity. It is a versatile lesson well resourced with a pp looking at the artist Bisa Butler, introducing the way she uses colour, leadership questions with examples of young leaders from different background and an art activity aimed at primary students which can be completed with just the print outs and colour pencil.

IB MYP Visual Art SOL/SOW KS3 Ordinary from the Extraordinary

This scheme of learning meets the intersection of Art and Design in a cross-curricular project. From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary encourages students to think creatively whilst designing a shoe/sneaker themed around the ocean. Outcomes: Watercolour illustration and cardboard sculpture of a sneaker or shoe Examples of tasks: Moodboard Observational drawing Isometric drawings Design ideas Art analysis Product analysis Cardboard sculpture Artists: Manolo Blahnik Ken Solomon TOK questions for IB curriculum. Starter questions which includes opportunities for class discussion and debate. Resourced with five pages of high-quality reference images and one ready-to-print for art analysis task. Includes two pages of simple worksheets; for differentiation or cover work. Notes in the teacher note section with additional questioning prompts. Lots of room for adaption, you can omit the design tasks, change the medium for the outcomes or include additional artists. In the past, I have had classes create miniature clay sculptures of their shoe instead of cardboard and these came out beautifully too.

IB pcup 2022 artist resources

Artist inspiration and resources for the 2022 IB MYP PCUP - touching on 5 different issues of the 21st century; technology, humanitarian violations, refugee crisis, environmental and ecological damage, and waste and conspicuous consumption. Artists featured come from across the globe and there is a balance of genders, some artists are mid career and some are very well established. As the PCUP states 21st century all artworks featured have been made within the last 22 years and every image is referenced for ease of use by students. I have opened with the questions taken from the PCUP. For less than the price of a coffee you will receive an editable PowerPoint which you could either use as is, or add to if desired, and a printable PDF file.

Can be used in a variety of ways as starters and plenaries, cover and distance learning. Have your students try different skills in each word. How could they link the word to the skill practice? Great for a variety of age ranges particularly my year 7 and 8 students have enjoyed practicing their colour pencil blending.
