Instructions:
Children should read the short story 3 times. Each time they colour one star at the bottom.
Children should look at the sound in the top right corner and circle words with that sound in the story.
Children read (with support from an adult) the questions and highlight the answers in the story.
Then they write the correct answer on the lines provided.

Add some Halloween holiday fun to your day with these cute themed word searches. If your students are like mine, they love puzzles. There are so many ways you could incorporate this worksheet activity into your day.
How might you incorporate it into your day? You can use word search puzzles to introduce vocabulary or even just give it as morning work to go along with a holiday theme or topic you are studying in class. They are also great to use for writing. You could have students practice writing using some of the words from the word search and when they are finished, they get to complete the puzzle. Have them write sentences or a short Halloween-themed story. They work perfectly as a fast-finisher activity and also as a last-minute sub-activity.2

6 Roll and read/write games to practise recalling the past tense, with coloured backgrounds or in black and white - perfect for printing on your own coloured paper or using white paper so children can colour the verbs they answer correctly! They can be played in various ways - roll and read the verb and say it in the past tense too, roll and write the past tense of the verb on a whiteboard, etc.
