Lessons cover terrorism and look at case studies of the IRA, Neo Nazi, Christian terrorists and the September 11th. Lessons include video links, information sheets, homework ideas and GCSE style exam questions with appropriate writing frames.

The third lesson in the Hip Hop topic. Students will look at the themes of misogynoir, intersectionality and white woman tears. Society and Hip Hop: 1 Race and Inequality
The first lesson in the Hip Hop topic. Students will look at key information about a variety of Black heroes from the UK and USA. The main focus of the lesson is looking at ‘Knowledge is Power’ by Akala and ‘All Black Everything’ by Lupe Fiasco. Students will look at Timbuktu, Jim Crow Laws and the importance of studying Black history.

A full unit which looks at different heroes from around the world: the Dalai Lama, Gandhi, Malcolm X, Mary Magdalene and Mother Teresa.
Key information and sources of wisdom and authority linked to each hero is shared. Lessons include video links, questions they can self/peer assess and discussion points.
The lessons look at whether someone can still be a hero if they have flaws. For example, Gandhi made several racist statements when he was younger and Mother Teresa was criticised for how the money they raised was spent, as well as promoting her extreme Catholic views.
Issues relating to racism, feminism, sexism, Black Lives Matter and colonisation are covered.
This topic is taught as part of the Key Stage 3 Religious Studies curriculum.
