A carousel activity aimed to take a lesson of 1 hour. Using key letters, students answer a range of questions to annotate some of the key moments from the novel. The questions are focused on the Assessment Objectives for AQA A Level English Literature: Paper 2B: Texts in Shared Contexts: Modern Times: Literature from 1945 to the Present Day (Drama and Prose Contextual Linking) Some comparisons are made with 'A Streetcar Name Desire', but these could be easily edited to the play of your choice. (The letters aren't included, I photocopied the extracts from the novel onto A3 for my classes). You could repeat the activity with different letters.

Designed for AQA AS Spec A ( from 2015) this resource includes a comparison table with some shared themes between the novels and also a selection of possible questions for this exam. The questions are on A3 and are designed for students to mind-map their answers together in pairs and small groups. They could do this with the Assessment Objectives in mind and then use their notes as essay plans.

Created for AQA English Literature at A Level, but includes no specific references to Assessment Objectives etc. so versatile enough for different specs/exam boards.

A PowerPoint presentation designed to take students through analysing the poem independently/in pairs. Questions are focused on the AOs for AQA’s A Level English Literature paper 7711 7712. I’ve included a couple of comparison questions for ‘Rebecca’, but not many and these could easily be adapted for the text you are using as the comparison piece. The focus is on the poem itself, rather than on the novel.
