Does not include mark scheme or indicative content, but the generic AQA mark scheme can be used in conjunction with this resource.

AQA Drama and Prose Contextual Linking Question

(0)
This is a PowerPoint presentation going through the feedback from a mock exam I set my U6 students entered for the new AQA spec 7712/2B. It includes a question based around deceit and a breakdown of the assessment objectives. It includes some tasks and isn't just a long list of nags! You could set the essay first and then use the PowerPoint to feedback to the class on how to improve. The resource focuses upon 'The Help' with 'A Streetcar Named Desire', but minor tweaking would make it compatible with whichever texts you are using.
Clothing in Jane Eyre

Clothing in Jane Eyre

(0)
A selection of extracts from the novel, which describe clothing in some way. Could be used as a starting point for exploring the presentation of class in the novel, or of symbolism. The resources are extracts only, use them as you like! I used for the old AQA A Level spec for teaching the Victorians, but could equally be used further down the school.
Modern Novel Display
misswright2misswright2

Modern Novel Display

(0)
A selection of quotes from a range of modern novels, presented for display. I've used PowerPoint as it is the most user friendly to print without interfering with format/font etc. (just print whole page slides) The resource has 11 slides, so 11 pieces of A4 in colour for display. Many quotes link well to love and loss, so might make a good stimulus for A Level English Literature. Novels include: Stay With Me, The Go Between, The Miniaturist, The Way I Left Her, The Invention of Wings, The Secret Life of Bees, The Glorious Heresies.

Exploring the Context of 'Rebecca'

(0)
A PowerPoint presentation designed for the new AQA English Literature at A Level. Information about the novel’s background is provided, links to wider reading and a group/independent task is included too, to provide a varied couple of lessons. It will take me 3 x 1 hour lessons with mixed ability year 12, including an hour for them to work together to make their own links (with guided questions). There are some references to comparison with the poetry, these could easily be replaced with whatever text you are comparing with. If you like this, see my other resources on ‘Rebecca’ too!
