Cell Cycle, Mitosis & Meiosis Big Bundle: 2 ppt and 2 graphic organizers

This is a big bundle with two power points and two graphic organizer foldables plus a free comparison venn diagram covering cell cycle, mitosis and meiosis. Cell Cycle and Mitosis Power Point and Foldable: The power point covers cell cycle, G0, G1, S, G2, and mitosis. There are slides for chromosomes, how mitosis is the driving force behind growth, development, regeneration and asexual reproduction. The power point also presents cancer and other diseases causes by disrupted cell cycles. The foldable covers cell cycle, G0, G1, S, G2, and mitosis in both animal and plant cells. There are note taking areas for how mitosis is the driving force behind growth, development, regeneration and asexual reproduction. The foldable also covers tumors both benign and malignant (cancer). Meiosis Power Point and Foldable: This power point and graphic organizer fold out foldable can be taught together. Students will have a short review of mitosis and cover vocabulary specific to meiosis. Next the students go over crossing over using terms such as sister chromatids, homologous chromosomes, synapsis, tetrad, chiasmata. If you teach AP Biology it is great for review. The detailed meiotic steps also discuss what is happening with the quantity of genetic material and each phase of meiosis is detailed. The FREE Venn diagram allows students to collect their thoughts on the similarities and differences between mitosis and meiosis.

Biomolecules for Biology Bundle

This power point presentation can be done over a few days. It begins with the atom, chemical bonding and the elements of life (CHNOPS: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sulfur). Then it goes over dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis followed by the four biomolecule groups. There is also a guided notes on CHNOPS that is a fill in blank for the first portion of the power point, the key is included. There is a biomolecules comparison chart for the second half of the power point. For the bonding portion of the power point, there is a "chemical bonding in biology" foldable. This can be put together like a brochure if you photocopy it front to back.
BIG Plant Kingdom Bundle

BIG Plant Kingdom Bundle

This Plant Kingdom has two plant kingdom power points. One goes over the anatomy and traits of plants, then covers each plant clade (group) individually and their characteristics,. The plant clades or sequenced in evolutionary order and there is a chart included for the students to fill out while covering the power point. The plant clades are mosses, ferns, gymnosperms: conifers, gingkos, cycads, and angiosperms. The second power point goes over special topics in plants such as tropisms and adaptations. There is a third power point called Plant questions, you can do these as a whole class or upload them to a website so students can work on the questions individually or in pairs. There is one plant question per slide and they all have photographs or diagrams to help the students answer correctly. The last file is a set of writing task cards which covers all the plant information. I also have these items listed separately but you save purchasing as a bundle. Printing in grayscale will ensure maximum detail if you are not printing in color.

Evolution and Population Genetics Big Bundle: 2 Ppts and 2 Graphic Organizers

This bundle covers concepts in Evolution and Population genetics. There are two power points and two graphic organizers. It could take up to a week to cover. EVOLUTION BUNDLE Detailed Evolution Bundle with historical review of Darwin's journey and development of the principle of natural selection. Discussion of the Galapagos Island, Darwin's Finches and the Galapagos turtles. the natural selection process in giraffes is also covered. The five evidences of evolution; DNA comparisons, embryology, comparative anatomy, fossil record and bio-geography is presented to students. The power point and graphic organizer foldable can be taught separately or simultaneously with areas for students to take notes. A teacher key is included for an idea of what students should record. The graphic organizer fold-out foldable has instructions of how to glue and can easily fit into a composition notebook or spiral ring notebook. POPULATION GENETICS BUNDLE The population genetics power point covers the mechanisms of how species evolve over time. It begins with an overview of Hardy-Weinberg and then delves into genetic flow, genetic drift, bottleneck effect, founder's effect, the types of selection, the types of isolation and the types of speciation. The power point is filled with examples of the mechanisms and pictures, graphs and charts to help emphasize the concepts. The population genetics graphic organizer prompts students to write about the mechanisms of how species evolve over time. It has compartments for Hardy-Weinberg and then delves into genetic flow, genetic drift, bottleneck effect, founder's effect, the types of selection, the types of isolation and the types of speciation. There are visual prompts to help students remember the differences between the topics. Easily fits into a composition notebook or spiral ring notebook. Works great with interactive notebooks. A detailed teacher's key is included. The concepts are heavy within population genetics so I would advise to chunk the information up into segments instead of teaching them all the way through in one day.

THIS BUNDLE IS WILL KEEP YOU BUSY FOR AT LEAST A FEW WEEKS!!! FOLLOW ME FOR UPDATES!! Biology TEKs: (4) Science concepts. The student knows that cells are the basic structures of all living things with specialized parts that perform specific functions and that viruses are different from cells. The student is expected to: (A) compare and contrast prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; (B) investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules; and (C) compare the structures of viruses to cells, describe viral reproduction, and describe the role of viruses in causing diseases such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and influenza. (5) Science concepts. The student knows how an organism grows and the importance of cell differentiation. The student is expected to: (A) describe the stages of the cell cycle, including deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) replication and mitosis, and the importance of the cell cycle to the growth of organisms; (B) examine specialized cells, including roots, stems, and leaves of plants; and animal cells such as blood, muscle, and epithelium; (C) describe the roles of DNA, ribonucleic acid (RNA), and environmental factors in cell differentiation; and (D) recognize that disruptions of the cell cycle lead to diseases such as cancer.
