Is music a form of poetry? Can it be analysed in the same way as traditional poems? Is there such thing as visual poetry? Of course! Using Adele’s ‘Set fire to the Rain’, let your students imaginations run wild and change the way they interpret music forever. This presentation not only provides lyrics, but a rich context to who Adele is, and has accompanying videos. This presentation is to be used with the intent of class analysis.

Using Pascale Petit’s 2005 peom, ‘My Mother’s Purfume’ this is a great resource to further engage KS4 students into the world of poetry using accessible language. This unit of work includes a full PowerPoint for students, and a full analysis of the text including rich context. This is the second of two lessons, the first exploring ‘My Mother’s Mother’, which ulitmately scaffholds students into attempting thier first poetry GCSE question in a controlled setting.
