This lesson covers opposition to Roosevelt’s New Deal (New AQA Specification) with another acronym to make it memorable.
The lesson allows students to demonstrate their learning through an 8 mark question (Progress 8) . with opportunity to self assess their answer.

A little about the lesson
Students explore the Battle of Stamford bridge between two of the contenders Harold Godwinson and Harald Hardrada. Students are provided with the pieces of the events that occurred at the Battle of Stamford Bridge which they must piece together themselves. There are 2 optional tasks provided in this resource to accommodate with teachers printing budget allowances in schools! Students can either cut the cards with the images provided or they can arrange the statements and put them into a storyboard of their own, adding their own images for a potential homework task.
Students are then encouraged to draw conclusions from the Battle of Stamford bridge and communicate these in writing through PEE paragraph exercises (which could be extended through a suggested homework piece included in the resource)
Whats included?
A whole 1 hour lesson powerpoint is included (there are teacher notes also under some slides). Student worksheets/resources are included in hidden slides in the relevant points of the presentation and also as an additional Powerpoint for ease of printing. Homework, Learning Objectives and outcomes have also been completed in this resource, however, they can easily be tweaked to suit the needs and ability of your classes.

This includes assessment for the new style questions 1 - 3 (and Q4 to bring the paper out of 20).
2 interpretations on women are offered and the 3 new style questions to accompany.
In addition the paper also incorporates a feedback and review lesson helping students (and teachers convert grades to the new 1 - 9 grades based on percentages. This is the grading system we have created for the use in my history dept. It also offers a conversion back to old levels and old lettered GCSE grades to help students understand their new grades better.
Also attached is an alternative assessment I used with my Y9s which asks students to answer Q4 & 5 style questions.
The assessment is for students who have been studying Paper 1D AQA new spec - economic boom and the roaring 1920s.
This lesson has been created for KS3 students and covers life in Medieval England. The purpose of the lesson is to get students to consider how life could be viewed as both healthy and unhealthy in Medieval England using source statements.
Students initially search for Medieval public health features within a ‘Wheres Wally style activity’. Students then plot on a living graph using statements to guide them in pairs. Finally students apply their learning by writing a section of a 12 mark style question (AQA) using the sentence scaffolds provided to coach pupils into using accurate exam technique.
All accompanying resources included and suggested learning outcomes provided with space for you to add your own accompanying grades. I teach this lesson in full to my higher ability Y7 students (and reduce the number of statements to differentiate for my lower ability students). I have been graded ‘Outstanding’ in observation with this lesson also.

Celebrate World Space Week this October (UK) with your classes or tutor groups with this 50 question quiz themed around the event complete with answers. This resource is a 50 question World Space Week quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS3 and KS4 secondary students.
There are 50 multiple choice questions in this quiz covering facts and knowledge about space and the solar system, picture matching with keywords, spacial ‘firsts’ and astro achievements as well as space in music, tv and film!
The answers are then to be shared as a class either by going through each question (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. You could alternatively use the quick answer quiz sheet variation of this quiz if you would prefer to speed things up!
I would recommend for this quiz students get into groups of no more than 4 and the activity should take no longer than 50 minutes to complete.

A highly presented and detailed Powerpoint presentation containing 8 different grab and go starter activities.
This resource is created so you can copy and paste the Powerpoint slide with the starter activity of your choosing and edit it to suit your topic/ the needs of your students. Included in the PPT are a total of 8 different starter activities designed for individual/paired/group/whole class for secondary students. Starters activities include ‘Who am I?’, ‘5 Senses’, ‘Anagram wheel’ amongst others.
Within this resource are both the students facing starter slides and hidden slides with teacher notes on detailing each activity and offering suggested delivery/equipment/ challenge ideas where required any resources required are included within the Powerpoint document as hidden slides also.
Where animations are present, these will work when in presenter mode and upon clicking. Please be sure to check the presentation notes also on the slides for additional information/instructions.

Celebrate Halloween this October with your primary pupils with this 45 question quiz themed around the event complete with answers. This resource is a 45 question Halloween quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS2 primary and KS3 secondary students.
Whats included?
Within this resource there are 45 questions spanning 4 rounds. A mixture of multiple choice and general knowledge question types are included. Topics range from fantastic facts about Halloween and all spooky association to general knowledge questions, literary works, song lyrics and spooky TV and film favourites. Your pupils will have so much fun engaging with this quiz.
The answers can then shared as a class either by going through each question individually (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. You could alternatively use the quick answer quiz sheet variation of this quiz if you would prefer to speed things up! Additionally, answers to each individual question can be found on the notes section of each individual PowerPoint slide.
An answer sheet has been created for students to use with this quiz to ensure they stay on track. There are 5 bonus anagrams on the sheet for students to workout where they find the opportunity. The answers to these are provided within the same powerpoint.

A Remembrance Day resource created for teachers to share with tutor groups student assemblies or to be used for a one off lesson with your secondary KS3 and KS4 students.

A well presented lesson on the capture of slaves. Students are engaged through detailed, well presented resources. For this lesson ROOTs is required.
Students find an engaging way to learn about the route slave capture through classroom discussion.
Students then prose their own enquiry questions about slave capture. Students watch the extract from ROOTs before and including the capture of Kunte Kinte up until his incarceration on the beach. Students then answer their own enquiry questions.
Students reflect and develop their written empathy skills by writing a diary extract. Students are to focus on including both key historical terminology learnt in lesson 1 but also improve their vocabulary using some of the words provided.

This lesson is the first in my SOW following William of Normandy’s ascension to the English throne in 1066.
The lesson focuses heavily on Williams problems now that he is a foreign ruler in England in 1066 having conquered its people by force. It looks at the problems William may face and gets students to consider their solutions.
Students then demonstrate their learning by practicing a 4 mark describe question (New AQA exam technique) Peer assessment can easily be incorporated for efficient marking.
