This paper includes some examples of how some state’s flags or seals include some Spanish or Mexican symbols. My students were surprised by these examples.
This package includes two slides per Spanish speaking country. On one it shows photos of the Capital city and important cities or landmarks. The other slide contains name of the country, its flag, the name of the capital city and a map of its location.
With the younger grades you can have the country of the week, show the slides of a country and give them a brief explanation at the beginning of each class to create cultural awareness.
With the older grades you can review the location and the flag. Also, mention important cultural holidays.
