A series of worksheets (all in one PDF) created to develop learner understanding of colour theory and colour schemes. The worksheets have been designed for use in a young offender institute, and so the subject is aimed at teenage boys. These would work as a cover lesson, homework or taught lesson activity. A series of worksheets I have produced to develop learner knowledge of the influences and contexts surrounding the creation of graphic design and art. These were designed to meet part of the assessment criteria for Unit 02 of the NCFE Level 1 Award in Graphic Design, however they would suit mainstream KS3 and KS4 as homework, cover lesson worksheets or starters. This is a full unit of work for the NCFE Level 2 Certificate / Diploma in Creative Media (Graphic Design). I wrote it to deliver within a young offender setting and it works really well for 15-18 year old learners that are low ability. I have included pretty much all of the corresponding worksheets for the unit in this bulk resource. Prior to me writing the qualification, I found very little resources for the NCFE quals so hopefully this will support others now! A learner friendly peer feedback slip designed for use in an Art & Design lesson (with a project focused around Robots, however the design is very neutral and suitable for a variety of subject areas!) A great tool for formative assessment and a way to encourage learners to work together and respect each other (British Values).

This resource is something I designed to help embed literacy within my qualification. The front of the resource contains a highly colourful range of examples to demonstrate the formal elements in Art and visual elements in Graphic Design. The back of the resource contains: Support for annotating work (with bullet points to encourage thinking) Sentence starters to help reflect on positives about a piece of their design/art Sentence starters to help reflect on areas to improve about a piece of their design/art Sentence starters to help reflect on things the learner does not like about about a piece of their design/art I chose to laminate these (double sided) and each learner has one in their folder to use as a point of reference if required. They would also work laminated and stuck to tables or even made larger and displayed on classroom walls.
