I created a huge number of Artist research factsheets during my PGCE. The information for these was all found on the internet (please note I have not reworded any, merely copied and pasted). The idea behind the factsheets was to have a bank of resources for reference, both for myself and for students. I have printed all of these out and have them in separate folders (relating to style of art/design). I have made great use of them during my time teaching in a young offenders institute, and the learners like to select their own designers for inspiration to develop their ideas. This is a booklet that I have created for the boys I work with in the Young Offenders Institute. It is designed to be self-directed, but can also be used as part of classroom teaching. This is perfect for learners studying any course at KS4 or Year 9 minimum. The focus of the booklet is gun crime in the United States. The booklet makes reference to geography skills and graphic design skills, with literacy encouraged throughout the booklet in the form of questions and answers. I decided to create this booklet after watching some of the Louis Theroux documentaries on Netflix (around gun crime in the United States). These would be a potentially great add-on to the booklet. This is one of a series of worksheets and factsheets I have created relating to Sneaker Collaborations. Each worksheet & factsheet set will be uploaded and available individually, and I will also offer it as a bundle (which would make a great project in Art / Design Technology / Fashion / Graphic Design). This resource is part of a larger scale programme I have created called COPE. The full COPE programme has the potential to claim for 5 AQA accreditations, or there is the option to complete any of the 5 AQA accreditations individually. AQA 118854 covers: definition of emotions, identifying emotions, coping strategies to help with emotional wellbeing, links between thoughts, feelings and behaviour, red and green thoughts, the ABC model, fight or flight response, how the brain works in fight or flight, explanation of how the different parts of the brain control our body. Please note: the full COPE programme, plus all of the other 4 AQAs linked to the full programme, will be available to buy separately on here. I created this programme for use with young people in contact with the Youth Justice Service, however I previously taught in mainstream secondary and alternative provisions and definitely feel this would be perfect for any setting.
