Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

This is a fun activity to help students learn the order of the electromagnetic spectrum. I print out the colour sheets and laminate them so students can hold them up, then get them to arrange themselves into the right order. They need to look for the visual clues to help them e.g. colours and wavelength on the background. This could be printed out in a smaller version e.g. 2 slides to a page and students can then do this in pairs or small groups. Great as an introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum but also good a s a revision activity.

GCSE Combined Science - Physics - Paper 1 Mind Map

(0)
This has the main topic headings for the Combined Science Paper 1 grouped according to topic. Each required practical is highlighted. This can be used as a revision aid for students to work through and identify areas to work on or they can add to and improve the mind map with detail although it may want to be blown up onto A3 for this.
Electromagnetic radiation splat

Electromagnetic radiation splat

An animated PowerPoint file that enables you to play splat. Have a list of questions where the answers are parts of the electromagnetic spectrum and have two students at the board. The first person to "splat" the right answer wins. Winner stays on is always a good game but you can rotate in teams or anyway you like. Excellent for revision of the electromagnetic spectrum.

GCSE Physics - Required Practical 4c Diode

(0)
I have reworked the required practical from AQA as using cells did not provide sufficient variability or control for collecting data on a diode. This practical sheet provides detailed instructions of how to set up the circuit and gather the data including how to do this using LEDs instead of a diode.
