GCSE Physics - equations to be memorised

(8)
A complete list of all the Physics Equations that must be memorised for the new (2016) GCSE exams. Both word and symbol format. This is suitable for all exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC). A useful checklist to have at the front of student books to enable them time to learn them. More Physics resources available here GradeGain
Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

This is a fun activity to help students learn the order of the electromagnetic spectrum. I print out the colour sheets and laminate them so students can hold them up, then get them to arrange themselves into the right order. They need to look for the visual clues to help them e.g. colours and wavelength on the background. This could be printed out in a smaller version e.g. 2 slides to a page and students can then do this in pairs or small groups. Great as an introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum but also good a s a revision activity.

Wave speed calculations

(0)
A worksheet that takes students through how to answer exam style questions on wave speed, frequency and wavelength. There are worked examples followed by an opportunity for students to practice their skills. It reinforces the technique of making sure students show their working out and makes sure they remember the units. Comes complete with answers.
Ohm's Law Calculations Worksheet

Ohm's Law Calculations Worksheet

(0)
Exactly what it says, a few practice calculations using Ohm's Law for GCSE Physics. There is a worked example to start with and then students quickly progress to completing their own calculations. Useful as a starter activity or revision for students who are struggling with the mathematics behind Ohm's Law. This is a differentiated resource that enables student to develop confidence with Ohm's Law. For a more difficult worksheet please see this resource: Ohm's Law

Flash Cards for all the Common Quantities and Units

(0)
These flash cards are great when printed out double sided and then laminated. Can be used in multiple ways - as flash cards to test the whole class, as small cards for pupils to play pelmanism (memory) with. Printed single sided they can be used as a card sort activity. Covers all the common GCSE units for Physics.

Physics Taboo 3

(0)
Taboo game cards covering the main Physics topics: Lenses, Motor Effect, Pressure, Centripetal force, Moments Students play in teams of two. One person picks up a card and has to describe the phrase in the top box without using any of the words on the card. Their team mate has to guess it to win. The opposing two members of the four can jump in and steal the card by guessing correctly.
