Why do you need this?
This activity can be used to help children learn about colours and sorting in a hands-on and engaging way.
How and when might you use this?
This activity could be used to teach children about colours and sorting and grouping. Teachers might use this activity during early childhood or reception education or with older children with special educational needs to introduce or reinforce the learning of colours. Can be used in group or independent practice or independent workstations.
This can be used as a one off activity or for continued use you may want to laminate the boards and pictures and use Velcro to move the pictures around.
What is included?
Included are 6 boards, each labelled with a different colour and 36 pictures to cut and stick onto the appropriate board.
2 sets of number flash cards - one with pictures and one with counting fingers.
Why do you need this?
Pictures and counting fingers provide concrete representations of numbers, making abstract mathematical concepts more accessible to young learners. By associating numbers with concrete objects or actions, students can better understand the concept of quantity and develop foundational number sense skills.
How and when might you use this?
Teachers might use these flash cards during the early stages of number recognition and for counting practice. They can also be used in number games.
Alternatively they could just be used as part of a math display.
What is included?
· 1-10 flash cards with objects
· 1-10 flash cards with counting fingers
Number bond to 10 posters
Why do you need this?
Understanding number bonds is foundational to developing strong arithmetic skills. By mastering number bonds to 10, students build a solid foundation for addition and subtraction, which are essential mathematical concepts taught in early elementary grades.
Number bond posters serve as a reference tool that students can use independently when solving math problems or practicing arithmetic skills. They provide a visual reminder of number combinations that add up to 10, aiding students in mental math and problem-solving activities.
Set of 12 word and picture flash cards showing the months of the year.
Why do you need this?
Flashcards help students learn the sequence and order of the months of the year. Teachers can use the flashcards to engage students in activities where they arrange the months in chronological order or identify which month comes before or after a given month.
Flashcards serve as visual aids to support students’ understanding of abstract concepts like time and sequence. The visual representation of the months helps reinforce learning and provides a reference point for students during calendar activities.
How and when might you use this?
Teachers can use these cards for small group lessons, maths centers, and vocabulary reinforcement. They can also be used for display.
What is included?
12 word and picture flash cards showing each of the months of the year.
This is a maths intervention aimed at young children learning to count and those struggling with math concepts. It will mostly be helpful for children in reception and year 1 however it will also help support children with special needs. It helps teach and secure learning in number recognition, counting and addition and subtraction to 10 as well as patterns and shapes, positional language, grouping and comparisons,

1-10 Number lines to support children in maths.
Why do you need this?
Number lines offer a structured way for students to practice counting forwards and backwards. By visually following the sequence of numbers on the line, students reinforce their counting skills and learn the concept of one-to-one correspondence.
Number lines support problem-solving skills by providing a visual framework for solving mathematical problems. Students can use the number line to model and solve word problems, helping them develop critical thinking and reasoning abilities.
How and when might you use this?
Number lines can be used to support mathematical learning during counting practice, number recognition, basic addition and subtraction, problem solving and in maths centers or games.
What is included?
Included in this resource is are 4 different designs of number line:
· Playful numbers made to look like monsters
· Numbers to trace over and practice writing
· Colorful numbers
· Black and white numbers
Numbers 1-10 shown in figures and counting hands and children have to count the cubes and match them to the correct number.
Why do you need this?
This activity can be used to help children develop their understanding of numbers, counting skills, and number recognition in a hands-on and interactive way. By counting the cubes and matching them to the correct number, children practice their counting skills. This activity provides a concrete representation of numbers, helping children understand the concept of quantity.
How and when might you use this?
This activity could be used in a variety of way:
· Math lessons focused on number recognition and counting
· Small group instruction to provide targeted support
