Play dough mats are a great way to practice fine motor skills while learning a variety of other skills. These particular mats can be used to help teach children numbers in words.
Although I have suggested play dough for these mats they would also work with various other sensory materials as well simply with whiteboard pens.

Set of 12 word and picture flash cards showing the months of the year.
Why do you need this?
Flashcards help students learn the sequence and order of the months of the year. Teachers can use the flashcards to engage students in activities where they arrange the months in chronological order or identify which month comes before or after a given month.
Flashcards serve as visual aids to support students’ understanding of abstract concepts like time and sequence. The visual representation of the months helps reinforce learning and provides a reference point for students during calendar activities.
How and when might you use this?
Teachers can use these cards for small group lessons, maths centers, and vocabulary reinforcement. They can also be used for display.
What is included?
12 word and picture flash cards showing each of the months of the year.
2 sets of number flash cards - one with pictures and one with counting fingers.
Why do you need this?
Pictures and counting fingers provide concrete representations of numbers, making abstract mathematical concepts more accessible to young learners. By associating numbers with concrete objects or actions, students can better understand the concept of quantity and develop foundational number sense skills.
How and when might you use this?
Teachers might use these flash cards during the early stages of number recognition and for counting practice. They can also be used in number games.
Alternatively they could just be used as part of a math display.
What is included?
· 1-10 flash cards with objects
· 1-10 flash cards with counting fingers
2 different versions of spot the odd one out worksheets.
Why do you need this?
These worksheets encourage students to think critically and identify patterns or differences among items. This helps develop their analytical skills.
For younger students or those with learning difficulties, spot the odd one out activities can help develop visual discrimination skills, which are essential for reading and other academic tasks.
How and when might you use this?
Spot the odd one out worksheets are versatile and can be integrated into various parts of a lesson to promote critical thinking, review concepts, provide practice, assess understanding, and accommodate different learning styles and levels.
What is included?
· 4 worksheets in which children have to identify which picture is facing in a different direction
· 6 worksheets in which a box shows items that all connected in some way except for one. Children need to find which picture does not belong.

Jigsaws in which children count the pictures and then join the jigsaw piece showing the corresponding number to the bottom. Showing both numerals and numbers in words.
Why do you need this?
Counting the pictures on the puzzle pieces provides children with valuable counting practice. They learn to accurately count objects and match the counted quantity to the appropriate numeral.
The presence of numerals and numbers in words helps children reinforce their ability to recognise numbers in various forms. They learn to associate the numeral symbol with its corresponding written word, enhancing their overall number recognition skills.
How and when might you use this?
This activity could be used in a variety of ways:
· Math lessons focused on numbers and counting
· Small group instruction to provide targeted support
· Independent work stations
This can be used as a one off activity or for continued use I would recommend laminating this resource and using Velcro to move the jigsaw pieces around.
What is included?
Included are 10 two piece jigsaws with images to count and numbers in words and numerals.
Repeating patterns with colours and shapes for children to finish by cutting and sticking the correct shapes.
Why do you need this?
This activity helps children develop their pattern recognition skills by identifying and extending simple repeating patterns. Recognising patterns is an important early maths skill that lays the foundation for more complex mathematical concepts later on. Completing repeating patterns requires children to use critical thinking skills as they analyse the sequence of colours and shapes and predict the next element in the pattern. It encourages them to think logically and sequentially.
How and when might you use this?
This activity could be used in a variety of ways:
· Maths lessons focused on repeating patterns
· Small group instruction to provide targeted support
· Independent work stations
This can be used as a one off activity or for continued use I would recommend laminating this resource and using Velcro to move the jigsaw pieces around.
What is included?
Included are 5 worksheets with 2 and 3 blank boxes to complete the patterns and 5 worksheets with 4 blank boxes to complete the patterns.
Huge variety of reusable velcro activities perfect for use on workstations for children with special needs or autism.

Number bond to 10 posters
Why do you need this?
Understanding number bonds is foundational to developing strong arithmetic skills. By mastering number bonds to 10, students build a solid foundation for addition and subtraction, which are essential mathematical concepts taught in early elementary grades.
Number bond posters serve as a reference tool that students can use independently when solving math problems or practicing arithmetic skills. They provide a visual reminder of number combinations that add up to 10, aiding students in mental math and problem-solving activities.
Worksheet showing numbers 0-10 and then cards showing numbers 0-10 in a different font. Children to match number to number.
Why do you need this?
This activity helps children recognise numbers in different fonts, which enhances their ability to identify numbers regardless of variations in typography. It promotes flexibility in number recognition and strengthens their overall understanding of numerical symbols.
The activity requires children to visually discriminate between different numerals. They must pay attention to the distinctive features of each numeral to make accurate matches, such as the shape and orientation of the digits.
How and when might you use this?
This activity could be used in a variety of ways:
· Math lessons focused on numbers and counting
· Small group instruction to provide targeted support
· Independent work stations
