I have been teaching for 12 years in both state and independent schools. Prior to this I specialised and worked in the fashion and interior design industries. I use a variety of mediums in my own work, including printmaking, portraiture, and graphic design. I'm always looking to learn new skills and recently finished a course in woodwork furniture design, which I loved! I have always enjoyed creating useful and beautiful resources for students and so think it is time I share them.

Lino Printing - Health and safety questionnaire

(1)
This is a one page worksheet/questionnaire that can be used in lessons to ensure your students are aware of good practice as well as health and safety protocol when lino cutting and lino printing. I have also tried to add some humour to keep students on their toes.

This is a comprehensive 18 page literacy pack. This is a body of work that I have developed over several years of teaching which supports students at all key stages in developing their ability to analyse and evaluate their own work, and the work of others. It includes question sheets which guide and develop their thinking, alongside writing frames and word banks which improve the quality of written responses. I normally print this as a booklet that I hand to my students at the start of the year, but you can print the pages individually. How to evaluate your work - generic How to evaluate a drawing How to evaluate a painting How to evaluate a copy or response Sentence starters How to analyse a work of art Word banks related to photography Word banks related to all formal visual elements Feedback is very welcome, but please be kind.

Colour Theory Bundle

This bundle of resources can be used as a package to be delivered as a scheme of work over the course of several lessons, or each resource can be used independently as and when needed. This teaches students colour theory, and how artists use colour theory. My aim has been to enable students to demonstrate their knowledge using question sheets, to develop their understanding in relation to applying art and design skills using the colour wheel, and to learn how to communicate their knowledge and views through learning how to analyse the work of others. An exemplar analysis resource for teachers is also included. Introduction to colour theory – Basic history of colour theory. 2 Colour wheels – Traditional and CMYK worksheets Informative poster on colour groups Colour wheel questionnaire – for students to use with paint Psychology of colour - Poster How artists use colour – Poster How to Analyse colour in art worksheet x2 Exemplar analysis resource for teachers.

Perception Brief - Art and Design

Creating project themes from scratch can be time consuming, and so I intend to share more of these briefs that I have created in the last 12 years. This brief focuses on the theme of Perception. Because the brief is not directly linked to an exam board, it can be modified by teachers to link more directly to your own specifications and assessment criteria. You can download this as a starting point should you need to add more detailed specifications. Feedback/reviews would be much appreciated on what you think could be added or improved on.
