Suitable as a revision aid or to supplement an existing scheme of work, the powerpoint includes model paragraphs and longer responses, scaffolds and a tablemat resource that can be printed on A3 and used as further scaffolding. Useful for years 10 and 11.

Two lessons that practice identifying and applying IB concepts to The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. These activities were originally used as bridging lessons between IGCSE and IB courses and would suit students beginning English: Language A courses. Prior awareness of how to analyse texts and literary techniques is assumed.

A 6 week scheme (15 lessons) of learning that explores Gothic conventions and a range of extracts from notable works. The unit is writing focused and builds awareness of setting and characterisation. There are additional and optional library resources that focuses on a reading of Jekyll and Hyde (text not supplied). Suitable for a mixed ability Year 9 class.
