I love resources that ensure all pupils are able to access & feel confident within lessons. It makes me sad when a pupil feels stressed because they don't get it. I love hearing a pupil say "I am on it miss". All resources for main part of lessons are differentiated to 3 if not 4 levels of progress. Starters are mixed ability so that I can get pupils to feel confident in areas they struggle on. Any queries please email me; shacostello@gmail.com

GCSE 9 - 1 New specification: Mind the gap quiz (wk 1) - calculator skills foundation paper 3.

Mind the gap resource - based on the new 9 - 1 GCSE. Based on EDEXCEL style paper questions, I have produced a mini whiteboard quiz/paper quiz as a starter for lessons to get pupils earning those easy marks throughout the paper. A focus on 1 - 2 mark questions that our pupils are making errors on. Each quiz has a questions slide and then the answers are provided also. I tend to get pupils to mark their questions at the end of each slide to ensure they can see they are making progress. I often use at the start of a revision session or during drop down days to get pupils engaged by having a competition board and the winner is the pupil who scores the most points - earning themselves a prize. I find that pupils need repetition - perfect practice, makes perfect. So I have produced 6 mind the gaps, same skills addressed in each one with different figures. This builds confidence with my pupils as they can see the progress they have made from the start of the week to the end of the week. Based around paper 3; foundation skills - calculator.
