I am an experienced teacher and currently Head of English and Media in a large secondary school. I am also an examiner for EDUQAS English Language GCSE. I have a range of resources available on TES. Some of my resources are quite old, from when I first started out, and I am currently working in my spare time to update my resources. There are a range of resources from displays, schemes of work, revision booklets, mock exam papers and lessons available.

A lesson analysing the presentation of Scrooge in the beginning of the novella. This lesson is perfect for low ability or C/D borderline students. The lesson begins with a Do Now activity looking at different images and how the represent Scrooge, before moving on to an extract analysis task that can be completed independently or as a class. Included in the lesson is a worksheet with the three extracts on, including teacher modelled annotations on the smaller extract. Students finish the lesson by writing a PEE analysis of the presentation of Scrooge, which is again modelled and differentiated for weaker students.

This lesson will encourage students to closely analyse texts and identify language, as well as authors intention and presentation of main characters. A great revision tool as well as a useful assessment for classes. Suitable for all KS4 classes. This sheet was used with a low ability set, but questions are easily altered.
