Here is a powerpoint I used with my Year 11 tutees to revise with them their P2 exam (part of the AQA Science Double Award). This is part 7 of 10 powerpoints I used - look out for the others!
All content is linked directly to the AQA specification!
This is another of my 4 pics 1 word resources that I have created having been inspired by @reflectivemaths and @srcav. The words in this presentation are radius, arc, sector, segment and chord. Good for literacy across the curriculum. I use these with mini whiteboards as a starter activity - students write down the word and their definitions. Diff by revealing/not revealing the letters for each set of 4 pics.

Here's a starter task I created using Batman & Superman and Shrek é Donkey. The idea is for the class to use a Venn Diagram to compare the 2 superheroes/characters. I have used this as a starter to finding the HCF and LCM of 2 numbers as well as a starter to teaching Venn Diagrams

This is a worksheet I created based on the goals scored of 4 teams in the Premier League during the 2011-2012 season. The class work out the mean, median, mode and range goals scored for each from the frequency tables given. Blank columns are given for the students to use, this could easily be differentiated for lower ability classes.
This is the second of 17 Mathematics sheets in the 'Raymond&'s Rovers&'; series of my Mathematics Sheets. I use this sheets with Year 11s for revision purposes.

Based on a popular app, and having taken inspiration from the ideas of @reflectivemaths and @srcav, I have created my own Mathematics version to add a bit of literacy across the curriculum. This set includes the words: prime, odd, even, factor, cube, square and fibonacci. I hope these are of use as starters to introduce topics. Differentiated by hiding the letters to choose from initially and then revealing them if class struggle. For low ability I would reveal letters at the start.

'Sky Sports News&' style pwoerpoint slide. Here is a powerpoint I have created to communicate to my classes their learning objectives, key words, homework, lesson aim etc all on one slide.
I put this up at the start of some of my lessons as the class are coming in. The lesson aim scrolls across the bottom of the screen when the presentation is up. I use a &';slide master' for this ppt and so if you want to change the layout etc it will need to be done on the slide master!
KS3 Maths Game targeted at level 4 and level 5. This is a 'Connect Thoughts&' board. The task is played like the &';Connect 4' game where the class choose any 4 tasks to complete in a row. The rows of questions are levelled and is a great way to differentiate, I have found. For more information on how I have used see my blog post... http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.com/2012/01/connect-thoughts.html
These can be adapted for any subject/topic

A complete Unit of Work on Trigonometry (Sin, Cos and Tan). Covers finding missing lengths and angles of right-angled triangles. No Sine Rule or Cosine Rule included.
Activities include:
Measuring lengths of similar triangles to discuss/discover the ratios, identifying lengths of triangles (hypotenuse, opposite, adjacent), exact trigonometric identities (NEW to the 1-9 GCSE), rounding to 3 significant figures, choosing whether to use sin, cos or tan, choosing whether it's a trig question or Pythagoras and more.
Lots of practice questions, all answers included and plenary type questions for each lesson/series of lessons.
I have been using this with my Year 10 higher set 2 and has taken 6 lessons to complete - not rushing through it and taking the time to explain/cover misconceptions. Would be suitable for NEW 1-9 GCSE Foundation students too.
See my blog post for more details.

I used this question as a starter to consolidate learning of simultaneous equations with a top set year 10 class. Would work well as a plenary too?
The question gets the students to form the simulatenous equations 1st based on a worded question using the characters from Finding Nemo!

This is a resource I have created for Pi Day 14/03/13. I have taken inspiration from the popluar app '4 pics 1 word&' and from the likes of @reflectivemaths, @srcav and @El_Timbre on Twitter. I use the resource with mini whiteboards to get students to write the word and the definition of it. Diff by hiding/revealing the letters to choose from. see http://mrcollinsmaths.blogspot.co.uk for more info.
Here are a collection of resources I have used in my lessons on Negative Numbers. There are various activities/tasks for the students to complete on these slides.
