AQA 9-1 GCSE Religious Studies Spec A The Five Pillars Ten Obligatory Acts & Shahadah. A powerpoint doc which provides various activities linked to the teachings, key words and learning in the AQA textbook. The lesson includes a word doc acting as a lesson template to provide a complete 'off the shelf' resource easily accessed by students of all abilities.

A powerpoint and word document used to teach Christian & Muslim Views On Contraception. The lesson has been tried, tested and reviewed positively. A lot of broader issues were covered including vital aspects of SRE.

A powerpoint which quickly and simply teaches the eight conditions for Just War. This includes debate (a clip) focusing on whether Christians should be pacifists. The lesson progresses on to four case studies for the students to evaluate as 'just wars': Vietnam, The Falklands, WWII and the First Gulf War. The lesson is completed with a 12 mark questions that requires a little bit of thought and reflection. References to scripture and key words are also included.

The resources included are a ppt and a word doc. The ppt presents a variety of information, stimulus questions for discussion, multiple examples of terrorist attacks, key words / terms for the topic, Christian and Muslim teachings and exam practice questions to ensure students are able to practise grades 7-9 evaluation. The word doc fully supports all students in making notes and keeping all their learning organized.

AQA Religious Studies New 9-1 GCSE Lesson The Church & The Local Community. Powerpoint and word document. The latter is designed to scaffold learning throughout and avoid the challenge of the 'blank page'.

The aim of this lesson is to explain and evaluate the reasons why wars are fought and how Christianity and Islam responds to these reasons. The ppt provides extensive information to support learning. There is a specific reference to Darfur as the example for how a real war can start. The ppt also summarises key words and religious teachings from the AQA textbook. Further to this there is a word doc which supports all abilities access the lesson and save time.

Two documents which introduce the topic on Peace & Conflict in the new AQA syllabus. The powerpoint and word doc both make this an 'off the shelf resource' requiring much reduced preparation. There are lots of activities that can be used or discarded as this is potentially a long lesson! The word document provides support for students of all abilities and saves time for the students by avoiding issues around books, writing titles, etc

A ppt lesson resources plus a word doc for students to take notes and make best use of time

25 slides of ready-made assembly for Harvest. The focus is a harvest quiz which has been animated and designed to engage the audience. The quiz is topped by an introduction and tailed with a reflection and prayer. This will be a time-saver when asked for a ‘class assembly’ or something similar.

A lesson aiming to teach key facts about the Qu'ran, how it was revealed and how it is important for guidance in Islam. There are plenty of clips and a diversion into issues associated with the burkha leading to a final 12 mark question clearly linked to the exam board marking guidance. The students are fully supported with their own lesson template for making quick and well-organized notes.

An assembly to celebrate and explain All Hallows or All Saints day 1st November. The assembly explains the word ‘hallow’ and the meaning of a ‘saint’. At the end the challenge is: How are you going to be a saint this week? It also touches on, and explains the meaning and origin of ‘Halloween’ but doesn’t dwell on that aspect. As always, the assembly is topped and tailed with a liturgical routine which can be omitted or retained.

A ppt that begins to explain sacraments then moves into the meaning and significance of Baptism for Christians. There is also a worksheet / template to support students' note-taking and access to the learning.
