World Heart Day+ Keeping Healthy PowerPoint and Activities + 31 Teaching Ideas To Try In Class

You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different activities being shown in each of the photos. I have added a writing task about the different ways people can keep healthy. You could focus on how does keeping healthy in general, mean you have a healthy, longer lasting heart in particular? I also wrote a presentation about the 31 different ways you could use these photo flashcard resources in your classroom. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about World Heart Day. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different healthy activities. The students can then discuss what they think about each activity and why it is good for the heart. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Are you talking about 9/11 and the effects of terrorism? This teaching resource is full of eye catching images about the event. I have also created a second PowerPoint presentation about the 31 different ways you could use this teaching resource in your classroom. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different actions being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about Remembering 9/11. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groupings. The students can then discuss what they think each one was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Which would you rather? - A fun set of 100 child friendly either or questions for 3 to 8 year olds. This is a child friendly set of questions which encourages them to make decisions and explain their answers to the rest of the class. When I play this game, I set two corners of the room, one for each answer. The children get up and move to the best answer for them. It could be used as a time filler, in Golden Time or during conversation. You could print out the pictures and mix them up or use them as a PowerPoint presentation.

All about me pennant - Getting to know you activity + Thinking Hat Reflection Sheet

You simply print off this pennant at the beginning of the year as a Getting to know you activity. I like the idea of laminating them and placing them directly above the different groups of children. The children can quickly learn more about each other. The students have a chance to set themselves a fun target to achieve in the year. At the end of the year the students can then look again at their targets and see if they have achieved their goals. This could also make a very homework task. Get them to build up their pennants using different materials from around the home. I added a reflection sheet for times children are not quite as good as you would like.

3D Monthly Desktop Targets Pyramid, Motivational Quotes And Positive Behaviour System

Make target setting an interactive, hands on activity! This ideas is based on a simple 3D square based pyramid net. There is space on each side for students to write down their monthly English, Maths and Social targets. There is also a space for their name and something they learnt in the previous month. I added the motivational quotes so students appreciate what they are learning towards. I added the positive behaviour system, where the students move around the track each time they achieve their pyramids targets! The harder they work, the faster they move around the track. Lots of fun for everyone! I have created this worksheet in black and white so teachers can either print them on white paper or onto different coloured papers, the idea being to change the colour of the pyramid every month, so everyone knows which pyramid they should now be following.

Science Day or Science Week Presentation - videos, introduction to science and draw a scientist

(0)
Science week is a great time to discuss the importance of science. Some countries such as India have Science Day, while other celebrate International Science Week. The idea is for the students to draw a scientist at the start of the lesson... then compare what they thought science was (generally a wild haired, white guy doing crazy stuff in a lab) with what they thought science was at the end of the lesson and hopefully there has been a change of ideas. This presentation has links to 2 great YouTube videos which explain why science is so important to everyone. I also listed some of key branches of science, with a brief introduction and pictures. The idea is to discuss how science affects our every day life and how in reality, we are all scientists at heart.

Saint David's Day Presentation and Colouring Activities

Saint David is the patron saint of Wales. I have created a presentation which could be used either in the classroom or as part of a school assembly. This presentation links to a YouTube video which explains the day. I have also added a virtual walk around Saint Davids (the birth place of Saint David), provided some key facts about the day, links to a quiz and some Welsh themed colouring sheets. St Davids Day is an important celebration. Learn why the Welsh like to wear leeks on this day, and the significance of the daffodils.

How many would they consider were developing world problems. They can then investigate and find their own answers.

In addition to the Ash Wednesday presentation, I have also included some colouring sheets on a more general Christian theme for the class to complete after the presentation.

St Patrick's Day Make Your Own Magic Leprechaun

This is a fun art project for a class. I have created an easy mini printable paper kit, which you can print out and assemble and create a class of mini lucky leprechauns. The pack comes complete with printable leprechaun kits, and a step by step PowerPoint presentation show you and your class how to assemble these wonderful men. I really hope you like them as I have dreams of making them for lots of different occasions throughout the year! It is a fun way to celebrate St Patrick's Day on 17th of March and make sure every child in the class has something nice to bring home with them.

51 Spring Themed Colouring Pages - They are anti - stress colouring pages - perfect for KS1 and KS2

51 Spring themed coloring pages. The idea is to use them in between intensive SATS revision, as a way to reduce the stress levels of children. According to Science, repetitive movements helps to promote serotonin production, increasing the level of happiness in children and decreasing their stress levels. I have collected these pictures together and made them easy for a teacher to print out. I did collect them from a public domain source but I have spent time resizing them, fitting them into the theme and getting them ready for classroom use.

Commonwealth Day Flags and Information - Perfect For Buntings or Quick Geography Quizzes!

I have collected together all the flags of the Commonwealth, included descriptions of what each flag really means and added links for you to read more about each Commonwealth country. This document would be a fabulous starting point for any Commonwealth day celebrations. You could print out all the flags to make a nice flag bunting. You could also mix up the different flags and see how many of the countries the children can identify. I have included some blank world maps for children to add the names of the countries to a map.

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination - Facts, Figures and Videos

This presentation is good for International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Harmony Day. This presentation uses the facts from the police records of racial discrimination in the UK. It also looks at the impact of the Brexit, both before and after the vote and how this reflected in racial discrimination. There are lots of chances for the students to discuss what is discrimination, multiculturism and the Brexit.

Climate Change Week - What is it, The Causes, The Consequences, How to help + Colouring Book

Climate Change Week or anything you need to know about global warming and climate change. I have based my presentations on work carried out by both NASA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). I have collected together information about climate change, its causes, its consequences and some of the things students can do to help reduce their own impact on the environment. In addition, I have included some colouring sheets which will make lovely pieces of display work. This work does contain public domain material, but it has taken a considerable amount of time to change these into attractive, informative documents for children.

A LITTLE Catechism, WITH LITTLE VERSES, AND LITTLE SAYINGS, FOR Little Children

I found the book A LITTLE Catechism, WITH LITTLE VERSES, AND LITTLE SAYINGS, FOR Little Children, printed for John Lawrence at the Angel in the Poultrey, 1692. I thought wouldn't it be fun to mix these old saying with some modern images. I converted the book into a set of three presentations to make it easy for a teacher to share and discuss them with the class. It is a nice way of seeing what ideas have endured the tests of time, and which ideas would now be considered a shocking idea. This is also a nice insight into what people believed in the Middle Ages.
