I have developed a set of weekly Mental Maths for Year 2 children for teachers who want to include Minecraft in the classroom. I wanted to develop resources where a teacher can teach with Minecraft in a classroom with a single computer and a projector. I need to mention that Minecraft was created by Mojang AB. and I am not endorsed, associated or affiliated with Mojang AB in any way.

This book brings together some of the very best worksheets for teachers and students of English. Whether you are a teacher or a student we hope that you will find something here to inspire you and make English language learning fun and relevant. The worksheets can be photocopied freely and are primarily intended for use with Entry Level students, although they will also provide useful practise for learners at all levels. These worksheets have been written by an experienced English language teacher and used in English classes with learners from a wide variety of countries. At the back of the book is a short collection of fun classroom games that have been similarly tried and tested. Some may be familiar while others are original. In publishing descriptions of these games we are not in any way claiming credit for inventing them or owning them - our aim has been to collect together games that work and get a great response from students.

For example, I have deliberately avoided confusing jargon when writing about connected speech. Phrases like “bilabial plosive” and “palato-alveolar approximate” – though fun to say – can be studied later, or at the student’s leisure.

Today I have focused on pulling out all the positives from this book. This set of worksheets is easy to differentiate and every child will gain something from it. FREE The Magic Train Black Hat Thinking Activities - Problem Solving Has Never Been So Fun! Every day I am trying to add some more thinking hat resources I am making for my class to TES. It has been shown that Thinking Hat Questions promote higher thinking and reading skills in children and yet when it came to actually finding lots of these resources on this website, I could not find any and so I am planning to write worksheets each night and share them with everyone. I would love a review of my work and also any suggestions on what other children's books people would like me to add to this collection.

I have been a keen fan of this book for a long time. I was really excited to see as part of the Open Government scheme, I was able to take this book and make it into something I believe is much more user friendly. When I used the original book with an interactive whiteboard, I was always annoyed at having to skim to the end of the book to show an answer. I wanted it on the next page. In addition, I have now replaced all the pictured with much more stimulating colourful pictures. I have also taken the time to follow the advice of Dudley council and sorted the different problems into age groups and blocks. You will notice there is some repetition of problems both between blocks and in different year groups. The students can try the same problem twice at different times, as this is excellent consolidation. It is also an excellent time to suggest students think about how they could change the problem. How can this be used in the classroom? This could be used as an assessment at the start or the end of a unit. It also could be used as an emergency set of lessons for any teacher while covering another teacher’s maths classes. In addition, it is also an excellent set of resources to prepare for different exams. Look at how the students resolve a problem and identify the different ways different students attempt to answer the same problem. In addition to answering the problems, this is also an excellent time to look into inverse operations. How do we know we have found all the answers? How do we know we have found the correct answer? I have really enjoyed making these mental maths problems a lot more accessible. I have enjoyed teaching them in a wide range of different classes and I hope that you too will enjoy making maths fun.

FREE The Gruffalo Yellow Thinking Hat Questions Make Positive Thinking Guided Reading Fun! The Gruffalo is a really nice, feel good book. It is a great book to explore Yellow Hat Thinking questions to their full. These worksheets let you look at the characters, writing postcards home and of course developing a poster about why you liked this book. All these would make fabulous display materials. I would love to have some feedback from anyone who has successfully used this in their classroom.
