Text featuring characters from The Lord of the Rings, their roles in the plot and their relationships to one another. The Text is followed by True/False comprehension questions in German, a writing task, and some open questions about the story which could be used used as a stimulus for writing and / or speaking.

Improbable dialogue in which Fernando Torres consults a fortune-teller about Spain's chances of winning Uefa Euro 2012. Includes a full work-out of the verb werden. (1st, 2nd and 3rd person, singular and plural.)

Each slide has a sentence containing a preposition. Pupils have to search the net for images which illustrate the sentences and paste them in. (Good idea to make sure that 'safe search' is switched on or that your filtering system is rigorous.)

Higher Level GCSE text about the frustration of leaving an coat on a train and the intransigence of the Fundservice, followed by comprehension questions in English, a find the phrase activity, a reminder about modal verbs, and a second reading task leading to an extended role-play.
