Interactive cloze exercise based on a text looking forward to the Paralympic Games 2012. The grammar focus is the future. In each case the missing word is a third person plural future tense. Will work on PC or IW.
Interactive drag and drop game focussing on adverbs of time. The game contains thirty adverbs / adverbial phrases but will randomly select ten each time it is opened and arrange them in random order. Should never quite be the same exercise twice. Will work on IW or PC.
A set of images from The Hunger Games which act as a visual stimulus for students to describe and compare the two very different locations in the story.
Three slides with stimulus questions which students must answer as though they were a character in the film. The first two are relatively straightforward, but the third will require a little imagination. Worked well with an able year 9 class.
Two texts adapted from authentic source. In the first a American girl at school in Germany gives her impressions of German boys. In the second a boy from Costa Rica gives his impressions of German girls. The first text is followed by questions in English, the second by questions in German. These comprehension activities are followed by a discussion task and an AS-style writing task.
A copy of my PPT from the ALL conference. Intended primarily for attendees. May be less useful if you weren’t in the session! Examples in French and German.
