This worksheet allows students to envision the combination of quarks for baryons (protons and neutrons only) and mesons (kaon and pions only). This worksheet should also be useful for students when they move onto conservation laws and also revision. Based on the AQA syllabus, but should be useful for other exam boards too.

I allow my students around 30-40 minutes to do this in pairs. Following on from the previous worksheet where the pupils had to design their own vertebrate and label it, the pupils now have to design a habitat for their vertebrate, the boxes around the edge should be filled with labels explaining why they have put the things there. I got my pupils to do this in pairs and then made a display along with the earlier worksheet called 'Year 7's Fantasy Zoo'. I would recomend blowing this up to A3 size on the photocopier.

This covers all the key words and new words AS students will cover in the first module of AS Physics (AQA). I will be using it for the students to fill in at the end of each lesson the words they have learnt so they can then use it for revision during the exam period. However this could be given to pupils to do over a homework (or two!) as revision.
