This resource contains three employability sessions aimed at Year 10 students in secondary school through to Year 12 students embarking on Further Education. With the introduction of the up and coming T-Levels in 2020, schools and colleges now need to prepare our young people for the world and work more than ever before and so these sessions aim to best prepare students. Session one “Getting work ready" is to highlight a students skill set, strengths and weaknesses and what a placement will consist of to develop weaker skill sets. Session two “Finding a placement” is designed to help students approach employers and how to search for placements. Session three “Placement expectations” shows students typical attitudes and behaviours employers like to see displayed, how to dress appropriately and what to do if things go wrong.

Isolation/Lock Down Activities

With all this uncertainty about school closures and lock downs coming up, I have created a 4 week activity timetable for you to do with your children (should we all be stuck inside our homes for the foreseeable future!). As I’m sure you are all aware, keeping children entertained under these circumstances is going to be difficult so I really hope this activity timetable is useful to some of you. It’s cost friendly and I have based the majority of activities inside the home.
