Decimal Subtraction Fill The Grid Starters

(0)
Two lesson starters, easily editable to consolidate decimal subtraction. Just play the slideshow as pupils enter and it will continue on a loop. Two squares of a 4 x 4 grid will be revealed on each slide, showing a question. Pupils have to draw the grid and complete it with the correct answers in each square. These resources engage pupils as they need to pay careful attention to see which answer goes where, and so they are settled, ready for the lesson ahead - this activity is ideal for low ability pupils as it gives them an activity they can access right at the start of the lesson.

Reading Scales Blockbusters Game

(0)
Fun and engaging class game based on the old TV show Blockbusters, with questions on how to read values from a scale. Split the class into two teams, blue and white. The blue team must try to create a connected blue line from left to right, the white team must try to do the same from top to bottom. Click on the letters to link to the questions, if the answering team gets it right then click “Game board” to get back to the start, and click on the appropriate colour for that team to turn the tile blue or white.

Decimal Multiplication Complete Lesson

Complete lesson on multiplying decimals. The lesson includes differentiated questions, including some application of knowledge questions. I have also included an exit pass activity for you to assess how well your pupils understood the lesson (though you may wish to do self assessment with it to save time). There are two main versions - the "cover" version includes extra explanation and complete working out of the main examples. The regular version omits this so that you can do the working with your pupils on the board, allowing more questioning and AfL opportunities in class etc. I have uploaded both versions in both Powerpoint and Powerpoint 97-03 formats.
Equations from a Straight Line Worksheet
prof689prof689

Equations from a Straight Line Worksheet

(3)
Double sided worksheet with 24 straight line graphs for pupils to write down the equation of. ranging from positive gradients to negative, and then fractional gradients. EDIT: I recently did a lesson on this topic with some higher set year 11’s, so have produced a second, harder sheet that includes axes with different scales, forcing pupils to use “change in y/change in x” to find gradient instead of just going one across and counting squares. The new sheet is only one sided, but is more suitable for higher attaining pupils. Answers now included.

Editable to change the numbers and answers if you want to use it with lower or higher ability pupils.
