Morning maths activity: children to explore different ways to make a number.

Phonics Phase 5 Reading Challenges. Children work with a partner. Partner 1 points to the word acting as the teacher and partner 2 sounds out and blends the word. Children swap over and take it in turns to be the teacher and then go back and put the sound buttons on.

This reading incentive has been used successfully in Year 1. Photos of the children were printed and laminated so that every time they read 10 more times they would visit a new setting which was placed on the wall in a line. Prize stars were placed on particular settings so the children were rewarded for their reading achievements.

Table Top English Word bank book These have been used in Year 1. They were laminated and fastened together using metal hoops. The children were then encouraged to use them regularly during their work. I did plan to create 'Maths Top Tips' books but haven't got round to it yet! English word bank book includes- *Time words. *Conjunctions. *Adjectives *High Frequency WordsPase 2-5 *2A sentence types. *Simple Sentence types. *Conjunction Sentence types.

Differentiated worksheets. Children to order the words into alphabetical order and to find the definitions using a dictionary or match the definition to the correct word.

Year 1 Desktop Placemats - used as a prompt for children to refer to in their work. Four colours to suit house point groups, colours, text and images can be amended to suit. Placemats include: Child’s full name Alphabet- upper and lower case Key words Days of the week Numbers to 20

Sending a big hug from a distance activity sheet. Pack inludes: Guidance on what the children might write. Two version of the sheet This has been used with Y2 children but some staff have used it across primary school. It has been created during this difficult time for the children to each complete a sheet. They have then been shared randomly so that every child receives a hug from somebody.

Guided Reading Organisation includes: Overview of the reading groups. Separate reading group pages for files. Extension tasks for children to choose from once they have completed their guided reading task. Guided reading observation sheet- to make assessment notes on each child.
