Two booklets to support mentoring 6th form students on a weekly basis. Each week they are asked to reflect on their successes, Their struggles and what they are going to do about them, and their learning.
The booklet also gets the students to think about their long term, medium term and short term goals.
As a tutor you can look through and see if any issues are arising and get ahead of them.
booklets are in editable format so you can adapt for your own schools reporting system.
New Resource looking at developing cooperation, teamwork, negotiation, compromise and forming an opinion.
An adaption of the Balloon Debate but instead of students taking on roles, they are a committee choosing survivors. There are 2 or three stage to each scenario each one giving the students a little more information on the characters.
I have created 4 scenarios:
Lifeboat
Super Volcano Eruption
Zombie Outbreak
Neutron Star
I use a Charcoal peel off facemask to cover information on the character cards so information is drip fed to them rather than all at once.

Here are the resources for a lesson talking to students about time management and prioritisation methods.
I have given this lesson to year 12 and 13 but could be used for GCSE as well. It is based on the ideas in the Hectic Teacher’s guide to Independent Study
The powerpoint is made up of mini videos so needs to be viewed in presentation mode to see the whole show.
This booklet take students through how to organise and prioritise their independent study at A Level as well as strategies for continuous study throughout thier A Level course so that they can keep control of their workload and time. The booklet uses the spaced study system which is a flexible system that breaks down independent study into managable 30-45 minute chunks (excluding lesson) and provides worksheets and suggestions of activities students can use to support their learning and revision.
Bookmarks for student folders giving structure advice for essay questions, 10 markers and Methods in Context.
Each bookmark has the suggested structure and sentence starters to help students structure their exam style questions.
Each workbook contains 60 different activities including:
Crosswords
Wordsearch
Codewords
Sudoku
Number Challenges
Logic Puzzles
Arrow Words
As well as a number of mindfulness colouring sheets.
The aim is to get students minds engaged first thing in the morning.
Answer booklet is also included
This crib sheet takes students through what is expected for each of the question styles on the new GCSE Sociology exam.
I give this out at the start of the year so they can use it when doing exam practice in class or at home. I also allow them to use it in the first couple of assessments and then phase it out.
I print it on bright paper and laminate it so that it lasts the year, but could also be stuck in exercise books.
