Students are given nine statements about Goole which they have to support with appropriate quotations (I have compiled some quotations as 'answers'.)
If adapted for other characters, it could ensure all GCSE Literature students studying the play could have a bank of relevant quotations to memorise.
Ideal for a lesson starter/H.W for any GCSE students who have finished reading the play

Resource based on 'Of Mice and Men' but can easily be adapted to other literature texts as appropriate.
Used with top set Year 9 group as a whole class activity, possibly could be adapted as a H/W task for GCSE students.
Grid to support writing about the character of Crooks. Can easily be adapted for most abilities, used this with my (lower) mixed ability Year Nines. I provided points, gave specific page numbers for Section Four so they could find relevant quotations and sentence starters for their explanations.
Page numbers refer to the Penguin edition 'Of Mice and Men' (pictured in cover image.)
Could be used when teaching Section Four.
I'm expecting they'll be able to use this grid to support them in writing an analysis assessment - consisting of around 4/5 paragraphs, analysing the character of Crooks; could be adapted to other characters.
A straightforward lesson analysing some of Lady Macbeth’s language in this scene (when she reads Macbeth’s letter) - offering sentence starters for a PEEZ activity as well as an interesting creative writing task. Could be useful as a cover lesson or even for H/W. Used with a mixed ability Year 9 group. If you want to watch the scene on link provided, you’ll find it at 20 minutes and 30 seconds.
Complete assessment bundle on the theme of conflict. Includes an extract from Act 3, Scene One of ‘Romeo and Juliet’, an exam style question and lots of support that could be easily tweaked for different abilities. Worked a treat with my weaker year nines, and comes with specific conflict related quotations that can be memorised to help prepare for GCSE Literature exam.
All in a Word document.
