This 70 page booklet contains exam questions and explanations of calculations required as part of the AQA A Level Biology specification. This is easily adaptable for any exam board. The following areas are covered: Units, stats tests and and standard deviations, standard form, percentages, uncertainity, use of calculators to find and use power, exponential and logarithmic functions, order of magnitude calculations, y=mx+c, determination of the intercept of a graph, tangents and rate and finally geometry (area, volume etc). Also included are the answers and the booklets are in pdf and word form for easy editing. The booklet can be used in many ways; it could be given to students to complete as a whole (with answers published on the VLE system/printed for students), or a page could be given a day as the starter of each lesson, or a page for homework, or teachers can simply select pages needed from the massive, massive list to use for explanations and so on forth.

A huge 60 page booklet on each of the required practicals for AQA A Level Biology including relevant exam questions, methods and techniques, answers and CPAC assessment trackers to track student progress, along with mathematical development opportunities, uncertainties and percentage error, statistical tests and reasoning, magnification and also biological drawings. The questions are based on research from many many many papers and include model responses that will guarantee full marks. I have also included a new practical, “practical X”, which looks at liming factors in photosynthesis and requires students to research and plan their own method for this. There is also a very tricky question on insect dissection that I have made and scattered throughout are challenging application questions in the style of the new specification exams. These are all contained in a nice, concise and consistent format making it clear to students, teachers and assessors. (Practical 12 is NOT included as this is a research skill at the digression of the school).

This is a challenging, application-heavy “mini mock” paper is aimed for AS Biology students for use towards the end of the year to test their knowledge and ability to handle tricky questions. The paper is also useful for A Level Biology Students to use as revision for the AQA Paper 1 (which will be all AS material). Absolute plethora of over 1000 questions on ecology and mark schemes! Students often struggle with ecology due to failing to apply any common sense reasoning so it is beneficial and logical for students to practise answering questions on ecology.

Included are fairly difficult aplication Qs used as an end of topic test on ecology including the mark scheme. Ecology is a topic students often fail at in exams and this paper is a combination of difficult questions and some really difficult questions i have composed myself, with a heavy focus on context, application and practical reasoning.

Attached is a document containing difficult ecology and environment questions with mark schemes included. The activity works on the basis of students answering the questions then peer assessing rotating from one station to the other. Stations contain the questions. This can, of course, be used in a billion other ways where students could relay question sheets and then add to the answer already there in a different colour every minute and so on forth.

SIX FULL LESSONS on the AQA A Level Biology Nervous Coordination Topic. Lessons explore hormonal and nervous coordination, neurone structure, salatory conduction, action potentials, synapses and finally muscles and muscle contraction. Two similar practical techniques; resource contains a detailed lesson with AfL exploring how each works, their uses, and how calculations for the rate of respiration/transpiration are deduced. Further, there are model answers to common questions testing respirometers and potometer use that have come up in the past! Also included are relevant exam questions and mark schemes for students to test their knowledge.

NINE FULL LESSONS ON PHOTOSYNTHESIS Lessons begin with exploration of chloroplast and chloroplast structure before delving into detailed explanations of the light dependent and in-dependent reaction, along with assessing the two required practicals: Chromatography with pigments AND Dehydrogenase/DCPIP practical before exploring limiting graphs and finally applying photosynthesis to very tricky questions. These lessons are invaluable - focusing on the basic content A01, coupled with tricky exam questions throughout, A02, and finally assessing the require practicals, developing graphing analysis and data tabulating skills and also answering tricky practical and context based exam questions, A03. Nine full lessons on the Recombinant DNA Technology topic for AQA A Level Biology. This topic is one of the most challenging due to the application and context-based nature.
