This is a bumper pack enabling you to create or develop your outdoor area to cover the revised 7 areas of Learning. The pack would be great for nursery settings, school settings and childminders to use to create a stimulating and exciting outdoor area. The pack includes: Ideas sheets: A sheet of ideas for each of the revised 7 areas of learning - each sheet has a number of ideas to start you off on your planning for the outdoor area - (you will also be sent the sheets for the current framework of 6 areas). Planning: Planning sheets for the outdoor area for you to fill in with you planning- included are examples of short term activity plans, medium termweekly plans and long term plans. These are the sheets I have used and can be used as they are or as a starting point for you to create your own sheets for your own setting. Observations: Observation sheets for the adults to use in the Early Years setting to observe individuals and groups of children. Ladybird Maths and Literacy games A collection of 8 fun games Literacy games: 1-Letter Bingo- Turn over the ladybird letter cards and cover the picture on your card with the initial sound. 2-Spotty Ladybirds- Read the letters on your spotty ladybird and then listen for the sound. 3-Lower and Upper case letters- Find the matching paid ladybirds with lower and upper case letters- use all the cards or just a few. 4-CVC words- Collect the correct three ladybird letter cards to spell the CVC word on your leaf. Maths games: 1-Dotty ladybirds- Roll the special die and add or take away 1 spot on your ladybird. If the die lands on the spotty side you can take a spot from someone else! 2-Double spots- A game of doubles- match the halves of the ladybird with the same amount of spots and say the total. 3-Matching pairs- Collect two ladybird cards and see if they match. Match numbers, spots or numbers and spots together. 4-Counting ladybirds- Roll the die and turn over a leaf card with the corresponding number. Count how many ladybirds you have found- the winner is the player who has found the most ladybirds! Each game is supplied with full instructions and further ideas for using the materials. Each game is supplied in full colour and also in black and white so it can be printed out more economically and also photocopied to be sent home with the children.

This pack is perfect for teaching your children about the Hindu festival of Diwali. There are two emergent reader books for different abilities- the easier version has 7 pages and slightly more difficult version has 9 pages. There are a variety of activities which can be used as Maths and Literacy including: Cut and paste numbered diya lamps from 1-5 and 1-10. Roll and colour diya lamp sheets to use with one die for number recognition (or counting if using a dotty die) to 6 and colouring sheets to use for adding the numbers on two dice together. Missing number cards which can be laminated and used with dry-wipe pens or the students can copy the sequence in their books. There are 20 different cards with numbers up to 20. There are also number cards to 20 on coloured diya lamps which can be placed on the missing numbers on the cards or can be used as a separate center to order the numbers. Diya lamp size ordering cut and paste sheet. Write the room- 8 colored Diwali cards to find and write the words and also blank cards to make your own version. Make the sentences- cut and paste the beginning and end of the sentences to make 4 sentences. Sentence scramble- coloured cards to make the 4 sentences and four cut and paste sheets to make and write the sentence.
