New Specification - First examination 2018 This resource would work well for pupils or teachers when performing self-assessment, peer assessment or pupil assessment. The exam board terminology has not been edited in order for pupils to familiarise themselves with the specification criteria. This is an excellent resource for pupil to independently prepare written or spoken presentations to describe a football match. Pupils can creatively produce match reports or predictions using the vocabulary mat. It is ideally suited to higher KS4 pupils and KS5 pupils. The first sheet has over 120 expressions related to football and describing a sporting event. The second sheet is equally extensive covering the countries involved, the stadiums, vocabulary for emphasising your point, adverbs, vocabulary to conclude your report, vocabulary for listing your reasons, time phrases, linking words and opinions so can be used for other topics. This resource is easy to print and to edit. It is suitable for classwork, homework and cover work. it will work really well as an end of term activity.

There is also a word cloud containing all the events and the pupils translate the disciplines. There is a reading activity based on the background of a Paralympic athlete - this is adapted from an authentic source. There is also a link to the original clip. There are 7 comprehension questions and 8 vocabulary phrases to find. The second reading activity is adapted from a popular French news website and provides pupils the opportunity to read a longer text and answer 13 comprehension questions. There are also 18 vocabulary phrases to find. All these resources can be used for classwork, homework or cover work if appropriate. They are easy to print and to edit for differentiation purposes.
