Ideal resources to stretch and challenge pupils whilst improving their speaking and reading skills.
There are 10 speaking questions using the present, conditional, imperfect and past tense.
The reading comprehension is taken from an authentic web article on what Christmas activities there are for children in Paris. The first task has 12 comprehension questions where pupils demonstrate understanding of the text. The second tasks builds on their vocabulary knowledge with 22 phrases to find.
This is ideal for classwork, homework or cover work. Resources are easy to print.
Pupils use a vocabulary frame to write a weather report using appropriate time markers and a variety of tenses. This is great for practising high frequency verbs in the present, past and future tense.
Also included is a worksheet with a translation exercise and a crossword puzzle. Again this enables pupils to demonstrate understanding of three tenses.
Pupils label 12 activities of what Father Christmas is up using a prompt slide. Teacher solution is provided too. The pupils can use the summary slide to write an account of his day. Fun activity and great revision of high frequency verbs in the present tense.
Pupils read 4 paragraphs with a variety of tenses. They then answer questions demonstrating understanding of the text. This could be used as a model for pupils to use to write their own canteen review.
Pupils listen to a popular song from Toy Story and fill in the missing verbs in the imperfect tense. They then demonstrate understanding of the lyrics by finding key phrases. They also reflect on their learning and the strategies they have used.
Pupils categorise the time markers - great starter! Extension opportunities too e.g. pupils demonstrate understanding of three tenses by creating their own sentences using the time markers. Easy to print and edit.

Included within this upload is a reading exercise to revise introductions, name, age, birthdays, where you live, brothers and sisters, height, eyes and hair. Pupils can select the translation or comprehension option to demonstrate understanding.
There is also a rolling loop presentation of 18 French phrases - pupils listen to the teacher say an English phrase and demonstrate understanding by translating the phrase. This is an excellent revision activity and can be played on loop for pupils to test each other in pairs two.
The second teacher presentation includes the solution to the puzzle whereby pupils use their reading and writing skills to unscramble phrases which demonstrate understanding of greetings, asking and saying how you are, asking and saying how old you are and asking when your birthday is.
The PPT then has a match up activity with eight key questions whereby pupils find a suitable response to the question. Pupils then use the modelled example to prepare their own answers.
