Media Class English- Adventure Time Lesson 7
This resource can be used for ESL or mainstream English Language learners. Students watch a short clip of the popular show ‘Adventure Time’ and then answer the set of comprehension, multiple choice or dictation tasks that are provided on the worksheet.
This resource has really helped me to improve my students overall command of English vernacular and idiomatic phrases. It also provides many extended response opportunities both oral and written.
Finally, I use these tasks to also have open discussions about the problems and solutions the characters face, many of which are also problems applicable to the students watching the episode. :)

The Hibernation Game ( Set 1:Bears)
This game is targeted towards young learners.
Purpose: It focuses on hibernation and has illustrations of 3 specific bear types that hibernate. Each bear type has four in a set.

Hide cards around the classroom and ask students to find them.
Once found they have to give a fact on hibernation or identify an animal that hibernates.
Shape Camouflage!
Purpose: This activity can be used for Kindgergarten and Primary school level students.
Suggestion: The resource can be used as an art lesson or as a fun filler activity based on shapes and colouring.
The object is to find the hidden shapes in the larger drawing. Each organic shape has been drawn by hand and has small and large patterns to help with coordination and the ability to discern shapes.
Each pattern also has intricate designs that children can colour and decorate as an extension activity. In the past I ask students to coordinate colours with shapes and this has been really helpful in teaching new vocabulary. I also have used this in the unit: Camouflage as an introductory activity.
