This lesson focuses on the feeling of anger, using Tom Percival’s ‘Ravi’s Roar’ as the focus.
Children to discuss trigger points for the feeling of anger, and discuss that this is personal to them and that people can feel differently.
Discuss coping strategies for when feeling angry.
Children to create a feelings volcano, drawing milder emotions such as happiness at the bottom, building to furious at the top of the volcano.
During this session children will discuss coping strategies to use when feeling worried.
The lesson will begin with ‘The Worrysaurus’ text, where children can discuss why the character was worrying and how he used a happy tin.
Children can discuss what would be included in their own happy tin.
Talk about how we can eliminate our worries.
Children to make a worry jar/tin/box to take home to contain any worries they have.
LO: To know how loneliness and isolation can affect children and that it is very important to discuss your feelings with an adult and ask for support.

Talk about how we are all unique and what makes us special.

Children will discuss the different emotions, how they might feel and things that might cause them to feel that way.
Children could complete the task independently or discuss in groups.
During this activity children will discuss what each emotion feels like and how they can identify each feeling.
They will sort their feelings into jars, drawing or writing something that might make them feel that way.
